Anyone else on here really think that?

Are you disagreeing?

I don't think any major blows have been landed although I think Obama did look a little weak on the specific diplomacy question. Obama looks good talking in generalities.

I agree with GAVol. Mostly a stalemate. However I think McCain has scored some on these foreign policy issues. Even Obama has said more than once that McCain is right without offering anything of substance.

In all seriousness....don't most politicians?

My thoughts. Neither candidate scored a crushing blow. Republicans will be pretty happy with McCain's performance, Democrats will probably be thrilled with Obama's. Obama didn't get absolutely smashed on foreign policy so that's good. All in all I think Obama gets the slight edge, but we will see how independents score it.

I'd give Obama the edge. I do think McCain won the part about Ahmadinejad, but other than I thought he looked angry and unpresidential. My guess is most undecideds would agree with that b/c that narrative already exists for McCain. Overall, I'd say Obama has won the night.

I just don't get how you come away from this debate thinking that. Both of them had their shares of smiles, smirks and scowls.

Bill Kristol on Fox News just judged this fight correctly. Obama won the first round and McCain won every round thereafter.

The difference is Obama could get away with way more sarcasm and smirks b/c there is no pre-existing narrative that he is an angry jerk. The same cannot be said for McCain. It may not be fair, but that's the reality.

In the same vein, McCain can get away with answers that lack depth b/c he is perceived as the more experienced candidate. Again, not fair but that's how these things work.

I think it just goes to show that different people are going to see the debate differently.

Obama said "I agree with John" at least 7 times.

McCain said "Obama does not understand" at 7 least times.

Per Fox news.

how? you're crazy. mccain dominated him on foreign policy. obama is very ignorant when it comes to foreign policy.

He didn't dominate him anywhere. The fact that McCain didn't knock this debate out of the park is going to hurt him.

Besides, even if he had smoked him on foreign policy, that isn't the big issue in this election.
