Prince Died

Owning the rights to their music is basically a license to print money, when that much money is involved, foul play can be expected. I'm not saying I believe it but it's certainly plausible.

I was just joking around, cause I saw something about a blood sacrifice.

Wouldn't they make more money if he continued to make music?

He put out 39 albums in about 38 years with no signs of slowing down. He released 2 in 2015.

Unequivocally a musical genius. Although all of his work speaks for itself, this performance of Musicology on Leno just before that tour is one of my favorites. It's a wonderful showcase of his songwriting, showmanship, and musicianship. I'll never forget that show at Thompson Boling!

Fantastic clip. I saw that tour in Denver and was fortunate enough to have front row seats. The entire show was an amazing display of musicianship from Prince and the entire band.

Here is a good article Questlove wrote for Rolling Stone.

Heard a story he has no known will.

It's going to get ugly fighting over his estate and catalog.

Am I the only person that just doesn't care that much about Prince?

I find people that need to comment how much they don't care about something fascinating.

Is it ego that drives this?

...to be the one person in a crowd on black friday yelling "go home to your families!"?

Perhaps, but you're definitely one of the very few people that don't care about Prince, yet took the time to click on a thread about Prince and read posts about Prince...who you don't care about...then took even more time to create a post just to tell us how much you don't care about Prince.

Brilliant.

I commented about it because I find it fascinating that people are physically in pain over his death, I guess I just didn't get his music or influence. Now when Dave Matthews passes away, I will go into shock while the rest of the world won't give a **** lol. So I guess I can understand

According to the National Enquirer he was diagnosed with full blown AIDS six months ago.

And they don't just make stuff up.

TMZ reported he had hip surgery in 2010 and all but inferred he got addicted to pain medication afterwards.

I can't really say I was a big fan or anything. I knew his hits and had a couple albums buried in my iTunes library but he wasn't an artist I actively followed.

I do respect his legacy. Its undeniable when you see guys like Bruce Springsteen breaking from their very rigid show lineups to play a tribute to him.

Since he died I've dived a little deeper into is catalog and have found a lot more of his stuff I really like. He really was true artist like David Bowie. He was constantly trying to evolve his sound and push new boundaries.

....fair enough.

:)

I'm afraid his death will likely be drug related. The night they landed the plane in an emergency and he went to the hospital. Allegedly was given Narcan by a paramedic before getting to the hospital. He apparently left only two hours from arriving at the hospital. This is most definitely not standard procedure and there is an outstanding chance he left AMA(against medical advice).

A very memorable sports segment. Nashville TV anchor Dan Phillips claims he lost his job after he incorporated Prince lyrics into an April 21 on-air broadcast in tribute to the late singer.

The former WZTV Fox-17 anchor made as many references to the pop icon as possible in the four-minute sports segment. As seen in the video, he recapped the last minutes of the Anaheim Ducks beating the Nashville Predators in the NHL playoffs by referencing Prince’s song "1999." “The clock hits 00:00. Oops, out of time. It’s the Ducks who are going to party like it’s 1999,” he said.

Maybe ESPN will call him up to the bigs.

I saw the video of the anchorman referencing many Prince songs in his broadcast. I wasn't offended and thought he paid homage to the Purple Yoda. We live in such a super sensitive society these days. Chill people, he meant no harm.
