the buildings didn't instantly collapse. meaning all that kinetic lateral load was dissipated. and which likely caused damage but not collapse. it was the gravity loads of the building that tore itself down after it had been compromised. Sam, myself and others spend a good chunk of our day making sure buildings stay up under normal everyday conditions. its a full time job for really smart people with all types of oversight and safety factors. and yet we still fail (very rarely and its never our fault :) ). and you are surprised a compromised structure fell???

at that point you already have the loads of multiple floors above. and again I am betting the impact damaged the connections for many of the unaffected floors. (unaffected as far as heat). that would really depend on the type of connection and I can't remember what type they used for this building. Fixed/moment, welded/mechanical.

the connections are designed to fail a certain way. once it gives, it all gives. that is steel construction for you.

fwiw, I used to be a truther until I went to college and did some of the math on this very subject. there is a lot that stinks about it all, but the collapse is not one of them.

I read somewhere that during the construction of the towers that all of the steal beams were coated with asbestos up to something like the 50th floor. Somewhere around there asbestos was banned.

but the issue isn't 3 falling on 12. its not even 3 falling on a damaged 12. its 3 falling on 3 damaged falling on 3 damaged until you get past the initial damage and by that point you have 12/15/18/whatever falling on your arbitrary 12.

So.... maybe if we can tell the date on which the 50th floor was finished, we can tell when asbestos was deemed harmful. Is this kind of a carbon 14 dating kind of thing? Anthropologists in the future will be looking at this.

Ok so the structual enguneers and physicists that have questioned everything about the 9/11 report findings didnt go to college? Are they less qualified than you to give opinions on the subject? The collapse has been questioned many times by qualified individuals. Why do these individuals disagree when its as black and white as you claim?

Actually they're more qualified than ANYTHING VN can combat with. The collapse is physically impossible to THOUSANDS of architects and engineers.

People can't come to grips with being labelled a conspiracist because the govt Has created words and excuses for those that disagree to make them and society deem them unworthy. It makes them sheep...

Check the net. There's plenty. Pilots. Engineers. Etc.

This. I am not a structural engineer but am a commercial construction superintendent. I build structures with floor trusses and structural connections similar to this all the time. No type of clip could handle the sheer force of even a single floor above falling on it. Much less many of them at once. An elementary under standing of physics and construction methods would make it obvious that the speed of descent would increase as 3ach floor was breached due to more mass applying down force on each successive floor. This is an example of a tower falling in the way it was designed, and constructed, and the fact that it fell in doubtless saved thousands of lives. I highly doubt that there are thousands of engineers that dispute this. Smoking dope in college didn't make them all loonies lol.

Why do retired American colonels claim that the US is actively seeking nuclear war with Russia and China? Why does half of Russia and probably a quarter of Americans think the Moon landing is a hoax? Why does your neighbor, who seems otherwise well-adjusted, think that the Crab People inhabit the bodies of members of the government?

If you look hard enough, you can find any seemingly well-adjusted people to think anything. This is still a very small group of people. The only reason why you think it's such a large group is because of the Internet and global media, which can make any phenomenon seem global in scale and can give a voice to any knucklehead with access to a computer. It's the same reason why we think rates of violence are going up when, in fact, they've been going down for some time now.

So are you saying there are no structual engineers, architects, pilots or others who are unqualified to give opinions?
