Fulmer's success or lack thereof is tied to Pruitt. Fulmer is going the 'work in progress , gotta give him time , look at the recruiting route '. I believe some of that is true , its hard to fathom that all of these successful coaches have forgotten how to coach. Not being a believer or apologist , there have been some things out of this staff that worry me , but there are some legit problems that cant be helped by anything but time and recruiting

I still like Butch the problem Butch has is he is too buddy buddy with his players. They got over a lot on him and it cost him the job. That is a leadership flaw on his part. Kiffin started the $h!t show allowing players to depart from the team concept and Butch never got hold of that and the results has been a group of individuals not a team. Can Pruitt change this I do not know but allowing the same ole stink players to continue to smell up the bunch will not work.

Just another convenient excuse. Martha White walked into a stable of talent, he just sucks ass at using it.

Darrell Taylor, Bituli, Chandler, Jordan, Palmer, Jennings, Callaway, Trey—all of them are scrubs who need to GTFO so Pruitt can show us how to build a program.

You have hit the nail on the head! After GS the world knew something was "Way Off" in TN, yet no change was forthcoming, in fact it was treated as a "One in Million" fluke. Those that make their living studying football, and timing everything, such as: how long it takes a QB to get rid of the ball, accuracy of passes past X distance, etc. are not impressed with JG. You want your young QBs to get better? Get them some game time, quit guessing about who the better GameDay QB is, find out-where it counts (and the only place it counts) give them some game time. It's not going to magically get better, and it can't really get much worse.....just saying.

I have a few heroes. Pruitt ain’t one of them. I totally agree he and the staff sh!t the bed against GSU. We hired a first time head coach and whether we like it or not, we’re going to have to roll with that for a few years. He will learn on the job or he won’t. You can’t blame the man for jumping at the opportunity.

What I don’t understand and what I’ve railed against is the irrational, unhinged hatred for the guy. It’s like Pruitt Derangement Syndrome.

If possible, folks need to chill and let it play out. What choice do we have?

If we can somehow win tomorrow, the only sure losses left are UGA and Bama.
But, if we get our clocks cleaned by UF, we may just fall apart.

Are you kidding? Our donors won’t even pony up enough money for an average coach. Why would we consider a change?

I will be very surprised if Pruitt is not our coach at the end of the 2020 season. Fulmer will be too stubborn to make a change.

I agree with you about playing the younger QBs. Personally, I would like to see Maurer get more PT. He has the best wheels and appears to be a gamer.

Barring some very very very extreme circumstance, a 1-7 start should get any coach fired at Tennessee. Anytime. However, those jokers better not fire Pruitt until the day they already have a handshake agreement with the next head coach.

Kiffin allowed players to become more self focused on there own performance rather than the team concept. It got worse under Dooley who had control of nothing Butch did not make the necessary changes either. Now Pruitt is facing the same issues with the carry over players. Now how can I say this well the proof is watching them. Second is consider the accolades many of those players had before committing to UT. Many were in the top 10 of there position in the country coming out of H.S. Now some of them can be expected to fail when making the next step but all of them???? It is a culture they stepped into that is separate from how coaches from Fulmer back did not put up with. It does not surprise us any more that a player is arrested or accused of misconduct off the field. This is the one area that coaches have the most influence in. Teaching these kids to be adults not babysitting them until they can sell there services to the NFL where team play is all but gone and one reason I do not watch pro football any longer. The celebration dances to political statements that are allowed in the NFL has sworn me off. This behavior is more and more coming into college ball as well and it is a shame.

He’s not getting fired after 2 years. If you want to indulge in fantasy and pretend Urban or some other big name coach would come here after the last guy lasted 24 games then be my guest, but the truth is Pruitt is here through the end of the 2020 season minimum.

Urban is never coming here...And neither is Gruden and all those other so called dream coaches...But you have no idea if Pruitt will be fired after this season or not so it is pure spectulation on your part just like the other guys post.

If this is sarcasm disregard my comment. Sometimes I can't tell. You realize those Butch players you referenced currently start right? You can't sit there and tell me that aside from them, Pruitts recruits aren't the best on the team.

This, again, was one dude mouthing off. He said this one particular guy was going on about how the GaState game completely humiliated them publicly and with friends at other schools. He said they lost all confidence in Pruitt (and some in Fulmer too).
He said this time will be different and they will put aside differences and pony up the needed money to get us “a real coach that we would take from someone “.
***Again, I don’t believe they would. I do believe they are very angry and embarrassed.
