Put this loss on Golden.

For all you Golden fanboys, please enlighten me. How did he contribute today? Did he do anything? He had 6 assists which was the only positive for him. In 31 minutes he scored two points. Two. He's the new Scotty Hopson.

Okay, altidore, this isn't soccer. This game wasn't lost by missing PK in OT. Get over it.

I think part of it is the fact he's still completely learning a new position, and just thinks too much, instead of react. If you watch a Derrick Rose/Rajon Rondo play, their instincts take over. Golden doesn't have that right now.

I have to agree here. Especially the last couple of years with Rondo. That man has been very easy to see the transitions take place, but Rose figured things out seemingly faster IMO. Those guys play out of their minds/bodies nearly every game.

Every week, he reminds me more and more of Tony Harris in his decision making. He's just not at good.

Golden doesn't have half the talent those guys do.

That wasn't my point.

If you watch them play, they don't think. It's all second nature to them to make the correct pass, the right move, using the screen correctly, throwing the ball in the shooter's comfort zone, when to go for the steal, etc.

Golden doesn't have those instincts at this point. Still too early to tell if he can develop into a PG that relies on his instincts, but we'll see.

I hate we lost too altidore. Do I think Golden is great, well no. He wears orange so I am a fan. Did you start a similar thread after the Miss St. game claiming Tatum lost us the game? Golden was locked down by Kentucky's D. Arguably one of the best defenses in the country. Did he have a great game, no but played well on defense against better players as our whole team did. If your right about effort, I agree with you. I truly do not think that is the issue. Idk maybe he was a little tired after carrying this team less than 48 hrs ago against another top 25 team. Maybe I am giving too much credit to CCM, but I believe he would sit him if he noticed any lack of effort.

How dare you use rational thinking. That is not how we do things on VolNation.

Too many turnovers from the team aside, this kid showed absolutely NOTHING today. Plays with no heart, no hustle, no fire. If I were Cuonzo I'd bench him and let Tatum play point guard like he did today. Absolutely horrible effort and unacceptable against the #2 team in the country and our huge rival. Piss poor.

did they decide to let you guys over at lakeshore watch the game today, wow congratulation.

seriously...

why dont we just put kenny hall at the point and see how that goes. golden is our pg, washpun is the only other pg on the roster. mcbee, richardson, mcrae and most definitely tatum are simply 2 or 3 minutes fill-in pg's. you think golden's decision making and ball handling is bad HAHAHAHA please imagine 35 minutes of tatum at the point.

He's the starting PG at the University of Tennessee. He's showed he can do it before, and he's a no show this game. I'm telling you, he's Scotty Hopson 2.0 sans 1st round talent.

I agree he had a bad game, but not that the loss is on him.
Kentucky beat us just like they do everyone else. By putting superior talent on the floor.
They keep coming every game and eventually their talent rises to the occasion.
It was a team win by KY.

also, where is the credit that golden gets for his defense on teague? he gave teague fits and really never let teague get comfortable, so atleast he kept playing d even though he didnt have his best offensive game.

FAR FROME SCOTTY!!! you are delusional.

trae golden is a sophomore still learning a new position, if by next year he doesnt seemed to have improved then ok i guess, but he has already accomplished more by improving than scotty ever did.

He's practiced/played point for two years don't give me that crap. And improved in what area? You wouldn't know the game of basketball if Larry Bird's mustache smacked you in the back of the head.
