QB competition..

Worley

Dobbs
Peterman

Fergussun
Yup. Pretty much. I would out Dobbs closer to Worley than peterman though. Worley is much improved. None of that throwing off back foot junk. Dobbs did very well also. Peterman impressed beyond expectation. And ferguson just looked bad until his last series. Not sure what happened.

1.Worley 2.Ferguson 3.Dobbs 4.Peterman I don't think you can take anything away from today regarding the QB position other than Worley had a better day than Ferguson. Dobbs and Peterman were playing against the 2nd team defense. That definitely makes a difference.Especially when there is such an enormous gap in talent between the two units.

nope, we won't know because Butch not doing anything with position until August 15th or so. Expect him to go with experience in the end to start the season. If Ferguson stays around # 2, he will get experience during season in backup role to Worley. See if he can eliminate his miss queues

Sounds like Worley is our man.

Riley was the wildcard. And sounds like he had a bad day.

Were you there? There is no way ferguson is ahead of dobbs. Dobbs was making all the throws today, regardless of playing against 2s. Being able to drop a ball in malones hands in stride down the sideline is something I havent seen from our QBs ever.

I'm just impressed with how Worley stands strong in the pocket now to make throws instead of throwing off his back foot. And he kept the ball on the options!

i dont know about yal but i yhink the pass protection was awful for fergusson. not making excusses for his mistake but he had no time not even on play action. the 1st d line is much better than our 2s. and im just tellin ya how i see it that malone is going to be a star and saved dobbs on some throws

I thought the throw dobbs made to Malone was a beautiful throw and catch regardless of the defense. If we can run that exact same play at least four times a game this season we should be alright.

From listening to the game, it seems like Dobbs really showed improvement. That's great for us! I was impressed with the effort he gave last season right out of High School....it spoke volumes. It doesn't matter which one is the starter to me...so long as he can make completions and be a threat to run. Dobbs is not afraid of running the ball. This, in its self, would keep defenses honest this season.

Saved dobbs? Really? Both their td hookups were great throws by dobbs. And for everyone on here that said dobbs has no arm I call bull. He had the best deep ball ive seen out of these four. And the snap at his feet was just ridiculous. Yeah yeah he went against the 2s most of the day but he still made them look silly on his 49 yard run for a td.

I will agree our line was terrible against the blitz which happened three times against fergy, but if thats going to be the case throughout the year he needs to learn to read it and check down quickly for some 6 to 10 yard pickups rather than hold it and take sacks.

I've been a dobbs guy from the get go but I want the best player to play and today I think that was dobbs with worley right on his heels. Peterman is well Peterman and Ferguson looked bad but got some bad breaks.

Worley had some pretty nice runs himself. Especially the tip toe sideline run. I think dobbs and worley give us the best play making ability. And if the line doesn't improve we're gonna need someone that can scramble.

Today:
Dobbs
Worley

Peterman
Fergy
After watching the highlights, I think Dobbs will be the starter next fall. His decision making and arm are = Worley...if not better. And the staff can open the playbook up with Dobbs. Not so with Worley.

Mobile QB's tend to get dinged up from time to time, so Worley will probably get his chance to take the reins at some point.

I knew Worley would be our starting QB all along this year, the kid has a lot of heart and will. Glad to see that he performed solidly.

I agree. Dobbs and Worley are neck and neck with an advantage right now to Dobbs. This summer is going to be a battle but I'm very happy with Dobbs and Worley right now.

Worley was throwing deep balls today. That is a really good sign. The offense looked pretty stellar, in spite of some concerning blown assignments by the offensive line.

Defense...not so much.

im not takein nothin but from dobbs. the throw on the slant pass was a good read and he did the only thing he could on the 79 yard pass which was give malone a chance and he caught the ball in double coverage. he beat both the guys deep. on the slant pass the db got beat of the line. josh did handle the blitz better than the others but lets be honest the 2s are a big step down from the 1s. i do think dobbs outperformed fergusson today but this was his first action in front of a big crowd. josh was plainly more comfrontable because of exp. i do think josh made a case for jones to look harder at him this summer but jones also sees practice ever day and riley and worley have been the top 2 during practice. anyone who ever played a game of football knows howthat first game feels like.

So Dobbs stepped up / showed up finally? Good to hear. Ferg didn't deliver today? Bad to hear.

I honestly hope that every QB we have is recruited over by leaps and bounds very soon now. For Worley to be the senior QB and can't distance himself from the pack is disturbing.
