QB competition..

So Dobbs stepped up / showed up finally? Good to hear. Ferg didn't deliver today? Bad to hear.

I honestly hope that every QB we have is recruited over by leaps and bounds very soon now. For Worley to be the senior QB and can't distance himself from the pack is disturbing.

Lighten up, Worley got hurt and he wasn't doin to bad before then,he started the year after we lost all of our starting receivers and the only one he had that was even a little threat was a freshman that played mostly RB in high school. And u do relize that our other QB's were FR last year that had to come in and play one of the hardest schedules.I don't know of any FR QB that is gonna be successful in those conditions little long a first year starter with no weapons.. Good Day Sir

Jmo..... I think NP actually did the best in the passing game portion...

I thought JD did the best all around as he used his feet and threw several darts also..

JW looked really good also and threw several strikes....

I thought RF looked lost and held the ball to long.... I think that may simply be due to his lack of experience though...

Again JMO...Not endorsing any of them.....

i think worley starts but the the number two guy is goin be a toss up. based on today dobbs is a lot more comfrontable than fergy. by a long shot. he just outplayed him. i expected no more from a guy that hasnt played in front of a huge crowd befor. fergy still my guy but he got to get the mental part of his game down.

Wasnt Dobbs in high school this time last year?

Yes. It's so rare for a true freshman to start that I think a lot of people judged him by RS Frosh/Sophomore standards. Dobbs didn't even have a spring practice to his name before being forced into action.

I haven't said anything against any of our current qb's, but it seems that everybody wants to beat up on Ferguson today. I have not called for Ferguson to play, because I haven't seen him play. I leave those decisions to the coaches.

I just want to remind everyone that today was one day in the life of a quarterback. I also want to remind you that this was the Orange and White Game. In the 2011 O & W Game, Tyler Bray completed 5 passes in 30 attempts for 122 yards. He completed one long pass, or his yards would be half. Quarterbacks have bad days like everybody else, including 3 or 4 defenders who should have tackled Dobbs on his long run.

THIS I DON'T UNDERSTAND. How is it people are pulling for one QB over the other? Are you from the same town, have similar interest, family? I mean if you have players competing for a position I am not getting pulling for one over the other unless you have seen both play and have an opinion on which is better and hope the coaches see it your way. Well today you say all of them play. This whole debate on QB is fairly nuts IMO. I don't care if the QB I black, yellow, green, or red.... don't care if he is a PE major or a Rhodes Scholar. I don't care if his name is Riley, Josh, Reed, Andy, or Scott.

Dobbs and Worley both looked solid.
Ferguson had a couple of mistakes but was also hung out to dry by the OL more than Dobbs and Worley as well.

Dobbs (not that he wasn't already) cemented himself as a viable option to be the guy. Ferguson has to improve but he can make the throws. Worley also brings some solid traits to the O.

I feel better about that spot than I did before. Right now none of the 3 are All SEC but not a weakness anymore either.

The OL is gonna be the key. It has to be better. The skill positions are young, talented and will only get better.

Dobbs showed up last year as starter we just didn't have the guys that could consistently catch.

Speaking of, I'm psyched about the WR's! It's going to be so nice having what so far appears to be a decent passing game this year.

Lane breaking tackles, love it!

Dobbs taking hits in stride and stays on his feet.

Worley keeping the ball and running!

Hurd running over Riyahd Jones.

Justus Pickett catching those passes!

Malone is clearly a beast.

Both Worley and Dobbs hitting receivers in stride.

Sure wish Pig had been there.

i dont know about yal but i yhink the pass protection was awful for fergusson. not making excusses for his mistake but he had no time not even on play action. the 1st d line is much better than our 2s. and im just tellin ya how i see it that malone is going to be a star and saved dobbs on some throws

the sound of a sore loser in a debate. un *****in believable

just turn in ur fancard already

man, where's chattavol and the rest of the dobbs-doubters? tried to tell them. the rest who doubted just showed up with a bunch of excuses. shame, shame, shame

i tried to tell folk them media guys lie. they was just telling folk what they thought many wanted to hear because they knew folk weren't at practice and their ratings would go up. then came the spring game and some folk got exposed

I thought Dobbs and Ferguson were definitely the two strongest. Dobbs had the edge and played with more confidence and seemed like he was more comfortable. Riley really had some ups and downs but his upside looks really nice. There were a couple decision making problems I think he had and his awareness on the field wasn't great but I think a lot of that will come with experience. He had a few passes that made my jaw drop, when he did get them off. To be honest, he reminded me of Dobbs last season, except a better arm. It will be exciting to see where this goes. I think we can't go wrong.

not with weather conditions like today.....big difference

you can't perform well in today's weather, with this group of wr's, this aint for you. especially in the spring game

How can you not watch that with a grin on your face?

QB/WR timing is looking awesome

Agree... releasing the ball quickly, nice to see.

Huge concern about the D... those highlights show a D that cannot tackle, contain, or pursue.

My argument is if you want to make excuses for Ferguson's poor performance by blaming the pass protection, fine I'll humor you this once and give you that. What I can't excuse is the QB fumbling the ball when he gets sacked. I've seen Worley get sacked from behind and he's still white knuckling the ball all the way to the ground. Despite whether or not the QB is blind sided or hit from behind he should be treating that ball like it's his own flesh and blood at all times.

Some blind hits are harder than other blind hits. Thus forcing the body to do what it was designed to do. When falling forward or knocked forward, hands open and seek the ground to brace the fall, elbows collapse to help absorb the shock. You can consciously overcome this reflex but if a hit is unexpected and hard enough, the conscious mind loses to the subconscious mind. Beyond that, and this coming from a Dobbs supporter, Ferguson had one bad day yesterday. That doesn't warrant shipping him to Siberia in a pair of Putin brand corduroy pants and a cotton mesh shirt.
