'22 QB IN Tayven Jackson (Tennessee signee)

Crompton didn’t immediately respond to Kiffin. He was terrible until the 4th quarter of the Auburn game, which was about the 5th or 6th game. I thought he looked like the worst QB in UT history in the 09 UCLA game. After that Auburn game, he took off.

Milton only started 2 games.
Well, I was referring to a broader time-frame; 3 years vs 1 year. He was bad for 3 years under Fulmer and good for 1 year under Kiffin. You're right, he wasn't very good for the first ⅓ of that 2009 season. I didn't mean to insinuate that he was lights out from the drop. Just that Kiffin was able to inject some life into him in 1 year that the previous staff couldn't in 3 years.

He has always sucked...

Let it go..

Let what go? Was pointing out that Crompton didn’t immediately improve under Kiffin. That’s it.

What needs to be let go is the cries for Harrison Bailey. He’s gone. He quit. Milton is still a Vol, like it or not. As a Vol fan, I prefer Vols over guys who quit on the Vols mid season.

Gotcha. And agree. Given more than 2-3 games (and perhaps a full offseason), this staff might make Milton good. Or they might not. It’s ridiculous to think either can’t happen.

It just kind of sucks knowing the kid was a Vols fan and now he is transferring. You hear all the talk about kids wanting to be here and he did want to be here.

Let what go? Lol you put 3 Evers on one sentence you are the one that needs to “let it go”… i said I hope he never starts again for us but if he does I wouldn’t completely write him off because he did some good things his bad were just terrible misses…
SMH...what the heck do you think I meant...you better let go of the hope Milton will ever be more than a horrible QB because it ain't happening..ever.

Milton sucks, always has and always will and him standing around disinterested and not being mentally ready to go in against Ole Miss is just as bad...he might as well quit. And you're right, Bailey is a quitter...screw him too.

And you are a grown man that’s far too emotional about this situation… I’m sure you were arm chair all American though 😂😂 just let it go bro.

Lol..would you bet on Milton getting better?

Not impossible. His only issue was hitting the deep ball. He hit all the small to midsize range stuff with ease. If he can figure out the touch on deep ball then he could reach his potential. He is a soft runner but still picks up some big yards on some of the draw plays

His biggest issue was not seeing guys running wide ass open on every play...not hitting them when he did see them only made it much worse.

"I’m just hoping to get in there and do my part and help them win and get back on top,” Jackson said. “The goal is a national championship, and if you ask the coaching staff that’s their goal. So I’m ready to go in. In two months, I get there and I’m ready to compete for a spot. (Starting quarterback Hendon) Hooker is doing a great job, but he’ll be gone and I’m just looking forward to just competing with my teammates and trying to put them on top again"
There is a lot to like about this kid and he can't wait to help us back to where UT needs to be !
Perhaps he knows something about HH that some of us don't !

About as likely to as you would have been to bet on Crompton getting better after the 09 UCLA game.
Crompton was recruited to play in one offense, then tried to force fit into a absolute abomination of an offense, and then finally got a coach that could figure out how to use him. Also..he did ok the last few games but let's not pretend he suddenly was playing like Joe Burrow.

Look...I would love for Heupel to figure out the combination to "Omaha Repertory Theater" Joe, and unlock and unleash all that insane physical talent on the world of CFB....I would love to be wrong and would gladly and thankfully eat all you can eat crow buffet for the rest of my life...I really wish Heupel could fix whatever it is that is broken inside Joe Milton...but I would not bet a quarter on him doing it.

I truly and honesty believe the guy is unfixable.

I’m wondering why they were playing Franklin Central, a team in Frankfort, KY?
