Quit with the moral victory bs

We were all proud of dooley his first year vs LSU and we all know the story. Look, it was a great game, that doesnt change the fact that UT lost and had a huge defensive meltdown at the end of regulation. Still waiting for something to be excited about.

they did not melt down.......they nearly held them on that goal line stance...they did make some mistakes...but no melt down.....

You can always find differences in details. The fact is that Tennessee hung right with a much deeper, more talented team (on the road) and lost a heartbreaker. Same thing happened here, except this is #5 or #6 in the list. The LSU game was the first one and give people something to hope for. The "hope" factor diminishes with each one of these.

Nonsense. Hope grows that we can beat USCe, to say nothing of Missouri, Auburn and Vandy.

Would you feel better if Uga beat us by 50? Someone on here said they wouldn't bet on the Vols with a 40 point margin.

But if you can't see the difference in a coaching blunder, which is what LSU was, and a simple mistake by a player trying his hardest, then I have to almost wonder about ...

well never mind. I am tired of this topic.

Have a good night. :)

For the first time in a long time I felt like we played a great game. We came out swinging instead of giving up. Sure it's hard to see the win slip away, but we gave it our all today. GBO!

I'm effing heartbroken. But I'm more optimistic about Tennessee football than I have been in years. WTG men, I'm damned proud of ya.

Derek Dooley and Kiffin had moral victories. Those games turned out to be flukes though. Tennessee grows up when the team starts getting it done.

Those weren't flukes. Tennessee has repeatedly hung with deeper, more talented teams over the last several years only to lose heartbreakers. You're telling yourself that so you think there's something "different" about today's moral victory.

Agree with OP. Moral victories are still defeats. Im tired of hearing it.

Nobody used the words "moral victory" numbnuts. I think most are saying they're proud of this team for fighting and not giving up. The moral crap came out of your mouth.

This was not a moral victory we were supossed to lose and we went in and punched them in the mouth and played balls out. I want this team to win so bad and we were one play away from beating the # 6 team in the country how f'in long has it been since we could say that.

This team fought and didn't give up under Kiffin and Dooley (at least until the end of his 3rd season) as well.
