It was made pretty aparant at the end of the season that we had a running game all along, it was just pooryly utilized

I disagree, we ran well all year. Here are a few key games and the way we ran. Remember Bama did really well vs Auburns running game also.

----------Yds-------avg per rush

UF-------171 ----------3.9

AU-------107----------3.5

UGA-----127----------2.7

BAMA----63-----------1.9

SC------246----------6.8

ND-------58----------1.5

AU-------228----------9.5

A&M-----241----------4.5

Looks pretty on-and-off to me.

We did about as I'd expect against Florida, Auburn (first time), Georgia, SoCar and A&M, we HUGELY underperformed against Bama and the Domers, and ran excellent against Auburn (second time) and A&M.

Williams and Brown are good runners, no question, but they are not unstoppable. If we can get 200+ against Auburn, we can break 100 against Bama.

In those KEY games our average per rush was 4.3, thats pretty solid.

Caddy and Ronnie are unstoppable if you ask me! :naughty:

I personally don't like his offensive strategy......he doesn't like to open up the offense from what I have seen.....I mean we have 5 big play receivers and 4 awesome running backs and an offensive line that can REALLY move a buffet....so I would like to see someone else come in and run our offense...... hey Cutcliffe is on the market I think........lets bring him back and let him lick his chops with our athletes now :good:

Phil Fulmer will never be able to click with a high powered OC, he a front line guy. His style of coaching is smash-mouth football, based on controlling the line of scrimmage. We may get beat in the 1st Q, but he relies on our depth and strength to turn the tide. If we lead after the 1st Q, it’s usually a blow out. Phil would never click with a gimmick kind of guy like Spurrier. I’m not fan of Sanders, but I’m sure replacing him would be a disaster right now. I think Rick Clausen will make an excellent OC in a few years. He picked up the offense and read the defenses fast than anyone gives him credit for.

I don't think we really had the fourth quarter juice this year.

EDIT: Not in nearly enough of our games, anyways.

I was glad we have any fourth quarter juice this year. I thought this year was going to be a train wreck, they we got too happy. That ND loss lit a fire under our butts.

And I can't even tell you how much that ND loss killed me, I live in Connecticut and most of my friends are ND fans.

After two Peach Bowl disasters, which I witnessed first hand. I wasn’t able to get down to Dallas to watch us finally, come disciplined and prepared to take care of business. I can't wait until Sept.

yeah cant wait. want to show ND just how good we are.

I was at that last game at South Bend with my ND friends. It was so much easier leaving wearing Orange than it was coming.

I wish I had that game on DVD, I'd watch it right now.

Let's hope so, it all starts with recruiting and Phil is doing a great job, but more importantly is he talked Jason Allen into staying. If you can stop players from jumping ship that a big statement to under classmen and recruits. Pete Carroll seems to be doing it at USC and I hope Phil can do it at UT.

I think OrangeCrush18 has been watching too many of our Home DVD's if he thinks our offense was great this year. RS, well I am not going to start, he just simply :censored: SUCKS. :flush: :banghead:

Don, our defense was not THAT bad. We averaged close to 400 yards per game offense and 28 points per game. We allowed 24 points per game, though.

I know our offense choked in some key moments, but look at those states and tell me the areas in which Tennessee TRULY failed this season.

If Ainge had stayed in, we would have one the ND game. The Ainge pass attack kills them, not the Rick Clausen one.

If RS ever loses that clip board he will not find the sideline. ( even though he stood there for FOUR years in college)

Man, don't you get it? Our offense performed great this year, dealing with freshman QB's, a third stringer and injuries like they were smallpox, while our relatively talented defense just sucked a$$ all over the place when they should have been the driving force. Our defense played THREE good games all season.

“If” doesn't count. I still here UGA fans saying if we played like ourselves we would have beat UT. All I have to say is excuses are for losers. Winners don’t need to make excuses because they closed the deal. ND beat up because we didn’t take them seriously, and believe me it showed. I had the same feeling watching the pre-game warm-ups of that game as I did watch the pre-game warm-ups of last year’s Peach Bowl
