Realistic QB situation

They voted Joe Offensive player of the game VS Virgina and VS Austin Peay so to them he is doing a lot right. Heupel said today a few things were a little off and the adjustments needed are not that big. He is not panicking like this board.
Yeah, neither am I. I trust Heupel more than people who have never been a coach and don't really know much about what goes on day to day inside the program.

Joe was bad at the start - started out 1 of 7 or 1 of 8. A few overthrows and few thrown behind - maybe 1 that was flat out dropped that wasn't behind the receiver where a trailing defender could impact the catch.
First accurate comment about Milton’s passing yesterday!

He hit them in the hands bro. They have to catch those. Two were overthrows. Behind or not they should have caught them. Hendon was god awful in his second game last season. But you do yip and hate all you want and call for Nico
Yep well I am calling for better qb play and I don't mind saying so. When the offense we run gets modified like against BG last years and AP this year then something needs to be fixed/ tweaked. You are not going to hang onto it at 1000 mph - thrown behind you with you and the db getting hands on the ball at the same time. He needs to pick it up and hit receivers in stride - so we can run our offense effectively and win against Florida. His play and specifically passing will likely dictate whether we win or lose Saturday. I like Joe, he needs to play up to his potential.

If a ball hits a WR in the hands, he needs to catch it. There is no such thing as a "Bad Ball" if you get your hands on it, you need to find a way. Thats what big time players do. I guarantee you Harrison Jr from OSU would have caught everything in a 1ft radius of his body. Yes Joe has overthrows but open your eyes, WRs need to do the most important part of their job. CATCH IT.

I'd be happy next week with a run crazy o plan, a dink and dunk joe show and a D that shows up and plays like Hair's on Fire and sacks Mertz 10 times. if the rest of the team shines, Joe will shine.

That is not true. There were 2-3. You want to use that old adage if you touch it you should catch it. That is bs. I‘m not a Milton hater so i fell comfortable calling it like i sWe it. There was at least one catch where the receiver caught a ball that could have been incomplete.
Ok put in hurt Nico at UF

This. All. Day.
Let's be realistic. Joe did not have a great day nor did the recipe very or the O line. It is difficult to get hyped up [playing an AP team who's purpose for the day was to disrupt everything Tennessee was doing, and try to take as many Tennessee players out of the games as possible and hey were successful at doing what they wanted to do. They failed to injure any of our players but did disrupt our offense. The Refs lost control of the game early and made some really weird calls. We were fortunate to come out of that games as well as we did. None of our fans are pleased, but the team will be ready to play Florida and Florida will suffer because of the AP game. Things will be just fine Saturday night.

" Milton was 0-of-4 on passes between 10 and 19 yards downfield and 1-of-4 of passing of more than 20 yards downfield."

This is a BIG issue! I am not saying what is causing the issue, but it is a big issue!
Good Lord. Relax

But what were his stats on passes between 19 and 22 yards? Or 36-41 yards.

Calm the **** down. Joe's gonna be fine if the receivers learn how to do the easiest job on the gridiron.

After letting the dust settle… I think Milton will settle in. I would be more worried if he were making bad decisions.. but he’s not. He’s going where he should go with the football, in both the passing game and RPO stuff.. The things he’s messing up on can be corrected.. Improving footwork which improves ball placement.. Not getting so excited when he throws downfield, etc.. that said at some point you have to PROVE it. This would be a great week to do so.

Yeah I'm glad to get out of there with no major injuries. Refs let them play dirty. AP was doing chop blocks, got called on two of them but you know they were being coached to do that.

I'm talking about if coach was dumb enough to sit a player that's winning thinking if he'll do that to that guy, he'd do it to me
If QB is in SEC play and coach thinks he's the main reason for a looming loss, assuming Nico is healthy, you will ABSOLUTELY see him regardless of prior wins. Milton is too up and down. JMO

No you won't that's just fan talk.

A coach isn't going to sit his starting QB after two games that's 2-0 and start a Freshman the next game unless the starting QB is hurt. What is the coach going to say if he did that and the team gets dusted from the Freshman not playing well?
Now if the starting QB isn't getting it done in the game and you're behind, if the coach decided to try the Freshman, that's fine like how Saban did when he sat Hurts after the half in NC.

Wait, you're saying exactly what I said. I didn't say anything about starting a freshman.

Sure as heck an no savant but I still think Milton gives us the best chance of winning. I still reserve the right to be critical, Saturday left a sour taste in my mouth. I will say after watching Texas A&M that our passing game is going to light up the scoreboard.

I guess I misunderstood you because I took it as we should start Nico and sit Joe because the coach thinks Joe will be the reason for the upcoming loss

Yeah, no. If it looks like we're losing to FL and coach thinks it has to do with QB play, I expect Nico will come in.
