Realistically, who should replace Holly?

Wasn't she forced to resign from college basketball because she had an "inappropriate relationship" with one of her players? I might be confusing her with someone else. If so, my apologies to Ms. Chapman.

Chatman will never coach in WCBB again.

Doug Bruno might be a good choice -- if they cant buyout Warlick just demote her back to an assistant

Ain't never gonna' happen. Bruno is DePaul WBB just like PS was UT basketball. The arena where they play is named Doug Bruno Court.

Unless Tennessee just totally self destructs this year, I doubt we see a change. I would imagine that Holly would step down and save the program any kind of embarrassment.

Jodi Adams, Wes Moore, Mizzou coach, Oregon St coach, Dayton coach, USF coach, hell there are tons of possibilities that Hart could look at. Do you honestly trust Hart to make the right choice when it comes to who would coach Lady Vol basketball?? I don't

Those were the allegations. It was with a former player. She's been coaching women's pro basketball for years. I'd give her another chance.

There are a lot of good coaches out there, most of whom would jump at the chance to coach UT.

Brenda Friese would be my choice as well but there are several problems with her. For starters a large number of the people closest to the program do not like her due to alleged tampering with Candace Parker when she was here. The second issue is her twin boys are in remission for Leukemia. Most of their treatment has been at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore so its unlikely she will want to leave based on that issue alone.

Yea, even without her sons' health issues, which I did not know about, I doubt Friese would come as she would rightly view it as a lateral move. Maryland doesn't have our program pedigree--but certainly she'd be right to think that her program is as good or better than ours right now, having beaten us two straight years in the NCAA). Why move? There are a bunch of good/very good coaches in the women's game nowadays; the trick is to find the right one, obviously. One thing we need is someone with a strong, no BS personality whom the players will respect and maybe even fear a little--that is one of many things we seem to be missing now.

On the site that Maria Cornelius moderates, there were persistent rumors that she had tampered with Wiley-Gatewood, so much so that PS almost didn't grant a release to Maryland. I think Friese also whined to the NCAA about our current players playing in games with our campers. I don't see her being an option but it's time for our athletic dept to smell the coffee with Holly. She is so far over her head right now it's Dooley-esque.

If (big "if") the University went this route they'd better do it before the Program goes on a notable and pronounced slide b/c at that point the momentum from losses, decreased ability to get top recruits will make this a slightly less desirable job in the eyes of the top tier coaches.

There are a lot of good coaches out there, most of whom would jump at the chance to coach UT.

The opportunity to keep the Lady Vols tradition going was when Pat retired. Brenda Frese should have been offered $1 million dollars..

+1 on Brenda Freese-- she's an ass-kicker, and would do well here. Otherwise, I would look for somebody out of the Geno coaching tree. If you can't lick them, join them!

Frese has taken Maryland to the Final Four the past two years and is one of the favorites to be there again this year. It has been almost a decade since Tennessee has been there. Don't you think taking Holly's job (in her mind) would be a step down for her? The same applies to Muffett. Both coaches have recruited extremely well, have great classes coming in next year, and have records of success at their current institutions. What would be the incentive to switch to Tennessee? Money? I would wager that both are making gobs more money right now than Holly is. And rightly so. They have earned it based on their results.

Has Holly been fired? If not, you all need to get over yourselves. This is why we can"t have nice things.

Tough day yesterday. Very sad. Talked with someone who was at the game and all the fans were shocked. Many of them left early and could not believe what they were seeing. My source says the players were lost out there and seemed to look at Holly for help. She mainly stood there and had no idea what to do.

Does anyone think that some of our former great players would come back and work with the team? Maybe they could bring some thoughts and ideas. Would Holly allow that? Just a thought.

Tough times for the ladies. They deserve a coach and staff who will elevate their game. They are smart and they want to play. My source has said that you could watch their body language and see how confused they were.

Almost anyone is better than what we have now..... I just witnessed an embarrassment to the legacy of Pat Summit

Remember, with Pat, we also lost some stupid games. Like six years ago in the first round of the NCAA, we lost to Ball State.
So, I am sure that all coaches lose some games that they are supposed to win and they also win some games that they were supposed to lose.
I understand that we are no longer the top dog in the S.E.C. and that South Carolina is. I also realize that we haven't faired very well recently in the NCAA.
I am almost in panic mode but not just yet. We have a good roster of players, so things may get better.
