Looks like we lost Siber (sp?) from Knoxville. We still have a commit from the hoss kicker. This is probably for the best because we do not need to use more than one scholly per year on kickers if we can help it.

We weren't going to spend a scholly on two kickers in this class. That was a big part of why he decided not to go to UTK. UTK wanted him to grey shirt or sit out a year. He didn't want to wait. They were not going to give him a scholly until next year.

I just read where the 6'0 200 pound DB Stafon Johnson was leaning a little closer to Tennessee. He said that Tennessee has been recruiting him a little harder than anyone else has. He started in the Army All-American game. Anyone know anything else about him?

Brandon Warren: UT would love to keep this Alcoa High School star in state. Warren will visit UT on Jan. 27. The defensive end/tight end seems more open to the Vols than anytime since his Florida State commitment in July.

Brandon Heath...6'-1 195, 4.55. Every article i found calls him a "playmaker" at WR or S, but projected Safety in recruiting.

He may be a great player but do we really want a guy that wanted to go somewhere else and just chose us because of family pressure?

I think the bottom line on Warren is still that we have a good shot, but if he takes his scheduled visit to FSU then we don't get him.

Right now we should take any ranked recruit that is willing to come to UT. Looks like that maybe a few more good recruits are headed our way, I think we'll end up with at least a top 20 recruiting class, not bad for a team that had only 5 wins.

UTK just got a commitment from a great looking DE out of Oklahoma. He is a smart kid with a high GPA and great work ethic. Add to that he has a big body with a great frame and good speed. Chase Nelson.

I noticed that Michael Goggans is visiting Auburn this weekend and then Knoxville in a nouther couple of weeks. It would sure blow if we loose him to Bama or AU because he thinks that Warren is going to come here and play TE and then we don't get Warren either. If you are the staff at this point what do you do? Cease recruiting efforts towards Warren to assure Goggand or risk not getting either one of them in an effort to pry Warren from Bobby Bowden?

Call me confused :dunno: but why are we so concerned about a 6'2" 4.6 speed tight end. He certainly doesn't fit the mold of a Jason Whitten?

TE's are usually some of the most athletic/versatile players on the field - Jason Whitten was actually recruited as a DE I think-

Notre Dame is not pursuing him - Jimmy Clausen was on campus this weekend (Junior Weekend), and the rumor is that he is a silent commit.
