The homeowner doesn’t want to hear from the contractor that the laborers are responsible for their terrible kitchen reno. “If only they had followed my instructions!”

Likewise, no one wants to hear from the head coach that the players are responsible for the team’s failures (even when it’s true).
Especially when the contractor is also the owner and manager of "Kitchen Reno University" that's responsible for preparing the help to renovate kitchens.

This isnt the first time I’ve heard A&M was the better team which I find surprising. It’s not like we had a fluke play that decided the game, it was ugly on both ends. We dominated on both LOS made fewer mistakes and won the special teams. If anything we should have won by more. They probably have a more talented roster but we have a better team and we have the better coaching staff.
Ya I'm surprised by that narrative. Both teams looked terrible. Neither was clearly much better than the other. I'd say the teams are fairly even, but someone had to win.

Analyst are a lot more stupid than Vegas who is in the business of money and not making money thru clicks. Vegas had us as pretty much equals and favored if anything due to being home. Guys like Lugenbill are in the business to rank recruits and A&M as we know has signed many of their fancy 5 star recruits that haven’t planned out. So he is getting defensive.

He’s a damn great developer, I just want to see him land the high rated guys in recruiting.
I've read/heard this week that this is likely the best DL in the country. This without the most highly rated guys. I get your point, but will amend from my perspective: I just want to see him get the guys he wants, and will hope for similar results.

Here’s the thing, if Ollie and Dayne are starting in year 3 that’s an issue.

He’s absolutely getting the most out of the talent he has, but year 3 a former walk-on, 2 transfers, and a career backup shouldn’t be in the starting 5.

His 2024 class looks elite though, I think Darnell getting drafted as high as he did is paying dividends for recruiting.

No OL coach does that by themselves (no, not even Sam Pittman). They do it when the recruits buy their program. The first two classes (I don’t count 2021, that was a patch job with them arriving in January), had the specter of possible NCAA restrictions being used by opposing recruiters. Big uglies flow to where the grass is greener more than any position group. And with his proven GREAT DEVELOPMENT, there’s nothing stopping them from signing up. Peruse our commit list in your spare time. Ginther and Perry are the lowest rated OL (and Ginther may end up the best of the whole lot)…the rest are top line and we’re in on more. 2025 kids are able to roll their eyes when Kentucky tells them we’re getting the death penalty. That’s big.

The DL was terrible
The OL running for 230 plus against that D was terrible
The DBs shutting down WRs was terrible
Special Teams were terrible
The RBs were terrible.
What game were you watching?

Look at it a different way. The fact he got ANYTHING out of end of the roster players (Dayne being a former walk-on) has to scream to more talented players that Ellarbee will get more out of them. Also dispels doubts from players like Nichols who haven’t been instant Trey Smith level products. You work, learn and develop and the opportunity is there…helluva pitch!

Not sure how you say that if the OL is playing at an elite level. If anything, that undermines an argument that we need "elite" recruits. Think about it. You just stated that he has a former walk on, two transfers, and a career backup playing at an elite level?

I guess I'll just settle again on this: I hope he gets the guys he wants, and continued to develop.

I agree we looked terrible...if the passing game is the only phase of a football game. Good thing it's not.

Not a fan of Neyland's maxims, I see.

Hilarious how these guys can’t see past recruiting ranking and don’t even talk ab development. Lugenbill saying they were better is funny bc the Aggies got dominated on the LOS both ways. We ran all over them and they couldn’t block us at all. Heup had a bad day and Milton was just awful as always. That’s why we didn’t beat them by atleast a couple scores.

Last yr these same ppl gave Kiffin credit for changing how they played bc they were loaded at RB. And all summer we had to hear how Bama was going back to that old style. But when we do it we don’t get any credit for it. It’s called good coaching and playing to your strengths (or trying to). Jimbo should try it.

Milton wasn't really as awful as we initially thought. Noted, he wasn't perfect or even great, but he played well enough to make us a very balanced attack that could have blown ATM out. He played as a very good game manager, and we should have been up by 14-21 at the half if things beyond his control had gone differently.

"Holding. Illegal use of strength and leverage. The entire offensive line. Automatic turnover. First down Bama."

"Illegal use of speed and agility. Tennessee running backs. They'll have to run the ball as a potato sack race the rest of the game."

"That guy on the left edge of their DL is just nasty. If we allow him to keep rushing Milroe, it'll affect the rest of their season because their backups such even worse. So, he's had three personal fouls that you didn't hear us call, and is ejected."
Seriously...they will call us for late hits early to get in our boys head and slow the pass rush down....watch and see.

They will hold and interfere on defense and offense on every freaking play and get away with it...while conversely they will call holding on our OL early and often to help shut down our run game....watch and see.

And not a damn thing will ever be done about it.

Bama has given up on 31 sacks on the year, shocked when I saw that. For comparison we’ve given up 9.
There was a movie called "Run Ronnie, Run". One scene was a Survivor-type reality show where when they voted the participant off the island, it revealed that they ate them.

"And tonight, we feast!"

When I think of our DL and their pass protection, that's what I think of this year.

"And tonight, we feast!"
