I'll take that one on the chin.

#No-Glitch

No worries, I think we're both saying the same thing and as @butchna pointed out OL recruiting isn't all on Elarbee. He's starting to elevate there though, Sham is a top 150 prospect and top 10 OT, next year's class he has a top 100 prospect in Warren, and a total of 5 OL kids that are all top 100 or better at their position and some who should climb closer to ESD. Would be huge to land Seaton.

I think Elarbee has worked wonders with the guys he's bringing in and who he has on the roster. I'm just excited to see a full OL of 4/5 stars that are all Elarbee guys is all.

This is probably the closest matchup we've had against Bama at all 3 levels since Saban took over there. It's going to be a game that comes down to who makes the fewest unforced errors. We lose if we rack up penalties like we did against A&M and Florida and we lose if we turn it over more.

The narrative around TN has somehow evolved into TN can only be good if we throw the ball for 400 yards and win shootouts, however, in the same breath they will say we can't sustain it because our defense sucks and we rely on the big play too much. Now that we have reversed that trend and don't rely on the big play at all, the narrative has shifted to, you can't win without the big plays and only running the football.

Now insert Alabama's name and rewind back to the summer previews, and every media member was touting how Alabama was going to go back to old school bully ball as they used to and they were just going to plow through the entirety of college football this year, and it didn't matter that their QB wasnt good because they dont need him to be.
The media can set the narrative for casual football fans. It’s astonishing to me that some of these guys get paid very good money to opine on sports. They know they can control what they want people to think.

Good insight, I'd lean more toward yards per attempt/carry on the defensive stats though. Our run defense averages 2.98 ypc which is better than Bama's defense. Our defense allows 4.41 yards per play which is also better than Bama's.

WTH?....why do so many if these scumbags lose all sense of objectivity and fairness when it comes to Tennessee? It is literally us against the world...and like I said last night..

I HATE THEM ALL!..🤬
I believe Jordan Beck speaks for us all...

I don't know how to predict this game.

On Paper, we look like the better team. Our defense is better. Our rushing attack is better. Our Special teams is better.

But it's on the road and it will be an emotional game... this gives the edge to Bama.

They want revenge. Revenge is a master motivator - look at how we treated USCjr.

I am glad this is not a night game otherwise I would give the edge to Bama.

But overall, I think our defense wins this game and we make enough plays on offense to score late and hold on to the lead.
Rivalry games are not worth the effort to try to predict. I'll hardly ever bet on a rivalry game.

Watching every minute of every game we've played I can say the defense is better than last year, but also when I look at who we've played and compare it to who Bama's played...I don't think I'd say our defense is better.

Bama's SOS is 4th (on Sports Reference) ours is 84th. Texas is the only team that put up points or yards on Bama... no other team scored more than 21 and no other team racked up 310 yards on them. Our defense only gave up 21 to Florida, but we've had 4 teams total go for 310 or more yards...

You sure are a buzzkill.

Totally understand. Our only common opponent, our defense performed better than theirs did. The first half of the FLA game was probably the ony half that I'd say our defense didn't look/perform well. Arkansas dominated Bama's defense the entire 2nd half of their game against them this past weekend. I know we could probably nitpick and disssect but I don't think their defense is better. If anything it's a wash, but our pass rush and run defense is better in my opinion.

Yeah but you could say the same thing about our defense compared to A&M's headed into last week.

Our defense was better. And it fared better against A&M than Bama's defense.

The way I see it is our defense is practically equal to Bama's, with one big unbalanced matchup that is in our favor

Our pass defense against their pass protection

They are right behind us in sacks on the year, but we rank near the top in pass protection. They have really been atrocious at protecting the QB. I think any other advantages they have over us can be quickly overcome if they continue to be unable to protect the QB.

This game has the makings of another slugfest and it would be surprising if either pulled away at any point. If anyone gets a quick double digit lead it's probably over.
