It's not a matter of walking on water, checkerb. Don't make this something that it's not.
I think Barnes will get some much better finishes in the 'AA tournament, and that will set us up splendidly for his successor one day. Discarding him, not only is unmerited, imo, but would be massively imprudent with respect to landing whomever would be best that he will one day be replaced by. We would look, imo, like a toxic culture.
I normally might go off, but, instead, I think I should meet you halfway and counsel patience at the worst in the near term and a huge upside if this ends the way a lot of us think it will. We want to celebrate Barnes and have the whole sport celebrate him when he decides to retire. I think that's smart. And I think he is making bigger strides all the time. If he might be a reluctant mind with respect to the portal (that has been alleged, but idk if it's true), I think we all have to admit he has certainly adjusted quickly and is flat rocking the portal!
I think his best days are still ahead.
