I hope no one bet more than $5 on MACtion. . .
Do NOT underestimate the power of a Tuesday night matchup between a 5-4 team, on the road in Kalamazoo. It IS CFB,

Omni...directional rivals. EMU/WMU/CMU.

What other colleges offer two trophies just for getting to 4 wins. As my buddy stated eloquently, WMU's season is over. Win the Michigan MAC trophy, and the cannon, thats the pinnacle of #Maction.

Forget the MAC conference title, a bowl game, or anything else.

Jokes aside, those were two really bad teams.

View attachment 593814Interesting movement overnight. %money has tipped in Mizzou’s favor, yet the spread has stayed the same, and the morning line favors us more. Hmm, Vegas wanting money to come in on Mizzou it seems. Makes me think they know Burden will be out or very limited, and/or we get a favorable whistle (believe this when I see it).
We're gonna beat Mizzou by 2 scores. 👀

Strange conference. 1 game will have over 100pts scored and get to overtime, the next game barely makes it to 13 points, 😂

The wind, snow, rain, and elements are our natural defense. EMU tries to throw us off with Gray field turf! Ha! Jokes on them! We're used to gray, overcast weather. That drear only motivates us!

I can not believe that people are buying the media whore narrative that Alabama did not play dirty as hell and knock out Daniels.

That is how they get away with it.
I can’t speak for others, but I’m not buying any narrative. I think Alabama is trash, saban is a whiny cheater that has the SEC in his Birmingham pocket, they are deliberately messing with our games through officiating, especially by not calling penalties on our opponents, no matter who the opponent is. I can see it is blatant bias against us at best. No other way to see it. Our guys on the DL are getting severely held every play, our WR are being interfered with and held almost every play. We are getting shafted.

I just happen to not think that particular play was a horsecollar or a penalty. I don’t believe that was the intent of why the rule was implemented. That is my OPINION, and everyone is free to disagree with me. That’s the last I will say on it. We can all agree to disagree and y’all can keep telling me I’m a stupid blind cousin loving idiot.

I was curious about some stats around our performances home vs away while Heupel has been here and so I crunched some numbers first on defensive performance. I simply averaged out every teams points allowed while at home and on the road and then looked at the two to see a change in performance over the last 2 and a half seasons. I excluded any neutral site games.

The last column, Performance Change, is the percentage change in PPG that they average on the road, vs what they do at home. The lower the percentage, the more consistent your defense whether home or away. This is not an indictment on whether or not your defense is good. Look at Ole Miss for example, they have the 2nd best consistency on their defense, but they rank 8th in the SEC in PPG at home. Their defense performs ~11% worse on the road.. so not a huge difference whether home or away. Surprisingly, Vanderbilt and Miss State actually perform better on the road. Or maybe not surprisingly when you figure Vandy averages 15 fans a game and Miss State players probably hate cowbells.

For us, there is a larger difference. We are 8th. When we are on the road the defense performs ~64% worse then it does when we are at home. We are 5th in the SEC over this time period in defensive PPG while at home. We are 9th in the SEC over this time period in defensive PPG on the road. Tomorrow, if I have time, I'm going to look at this same thing but for offense.

Updated, but in using the wrong table in 1st post, have one update. We are 64% worse on the road on defense, not the original value I posted. It's edited now.

The most frustrating part is the defense has had 2 road games where they just weren't doing anything. 1st half against Florida, 2nd half against Alabama

I'm not real sure what the deal is, but even against Kentucky they couldn't stop the pass. I'm hoping the UConn performance gave them confidence because I feel like a lot of it is the mindset and not a lack of talent.

Notch in the tail makes it a Sharp shinned. Coopers have a nice smooth "C" on the end of their tail
I trust you on that. I haven't done a deep dive into the Accipiters. Especially bc I have a friend who did her Master's degree on them so I usually just send her hawk questions. It's easier than an ADHD fueled, hyperfixation marathon lolol

Tells me that when we are on the road, Banks goes into a shell and gets too conservative with his game plan. This is when we see the soft zone plan the most. Can you somehow get these numbers to him to show him that he needs to be aggressive on the road, too? Lol!
Coach Banks is not the only coach in college football to use soft zone coverages. It has its place even if its doesn't look pretty or fans find it frustrating to watch. The end result is did we win. Coach Banks says this in just about every presser. He's gonna do what's necessary to help win. Tennessee was #22 in stop rate last year and is #29 so far this year. Considering what we've had to work with on D, that's darn good and will get better.

@butchna...you excited about the Bears playing the Carolina Panthers tomorrow night..Panthers are 1-7...
I’m interested on a see what we got against another team rebuilding that owes us their first round pick level. If Fields can show enough, it would open up a lot of options after the season. And I want Sweat to quiet some of the nimrods bisching about that trade.
