Recruiting Football Talk VII

No argument from me on our game. I can only hope that crew got raked across the coals for that one. I wish college football had public rankings that college basketball and other sports do. Some public accountability is needed. The only way we can see behind the scenes on how some crews are managed is to track their assignments as the year goes on and which crews work certain bowl games.
When Brian Kelly said in post-game conference he was sending the video of the alleged targeting call to the Birmingham office for [closed door] "review" every coach in the league should have immediately texted him: "New here?"

I hope you will track officials and let us know what you find out about who is sent where and anything else that turns up. Thank you very much for that!

Ever since I saw the Orange helmet prototype a few years ago, I loved it.
I know that I’m in the minority on that.
But I really like them especially on the road with white tops and orange pants.
It made me sick that when they finally debuted it was in one of our worst and most important losses ever.
Fans are superstitious, so many of us blamed the new helmets partially for the loss.
Therefore, I’d love to see them come back for maybe just one game next year.
And it should be against an OOC opponent that we are highly favored over.
Maybe winning in them would get some of the bad Orange helmet mojo out of the way.
Like I said, I only want to see the Orange helmet once a year.

Doc Holliday—gunslinger, gambler, and occasional dentist—dies from tuberculosis.

By all accounts, Holliday was a competent dentist with a successful practice. Unfortunately, cards interested him more than teeth, and he earned a reputation as a skilled poker and faro player. In 1875, Dallas police arrested Holliday for participating in a shootout. Thereafter, the once upstanding doctor began drifting between the booming Wild West towns of Denver, Cheyenne, Deadwood, and Dodge City, making his living at card tables and aggravating his tuberculosis with heavy drinking and late nights.

Holliday was famously friendly with Wyatt Earp, who believed that Holliday saved his life during a fight with cowboys. For his part, Holliday was a loyal friend to Earp, and stood by him during the 1881 shootout at the O.K. Corral and the bloody feud that followed.

There's a lot of different tells between a Cooper's and a Sharp Shinned but they're only easy to see when they're close. Far away it's much easier to get them confused. Same with Broad shouldered, Red shouldered, and Red tailed hawks

I can’t speak for others, but I’m not buying any narrative. I think Alabama is trash, saban is a whiny cheater that has the SEC in his Birmingham pocket, they are deliberately messing with our games through officiating, especially by not calling penalties on our opponents, no matter who the opponent is. I can see it is blatant bias against us at best. No other way to see it. Our guys on the DL are getting severely held every play, our WR are being interfered with and held almost every play. We are getting shafted.

I just happen to not think that particular play was a horsecollar or a penalty. I don’t believe that was the intent of why the rule was implemented. That is my OPINION, and everyone is free to disagree with me. That’s the last I will say on it. We can all agree to disagree and y’all can keep telling me I’m a stupid blind cousin loving idiot.
So many calls are subjective.
horse collar
targeting
offensive line holding (some analysts claim that it COULD be called on most every play)
pass interference (especially offensive, which is rarely called).
*The thing that bothers me is when one team is called for something (or not called) when the opposing team is called (or not called) and when replays clearly show this as a pattern In a game by the officials.
