How can you possibly tell anything from a still picture?
I understand what you you mean. What you would see in stills are the key moments I described in my text, so you would know how to look for what I am looking at; then you would need to go back to the video (of course) and consider it in motion.

But you've persuaded me that since this LSU issue is like a speck of sand compared to the vast ocean of officials' calls and no-calls that amounted in fact and in effect to rigging in our Bama game (regardless of "backstory"), it is better to let the LSU game go.

I was curious about some stats around our performances home vs away while Heupel has been here and so I crunched some numbers first on defensive performance. I simply averaged out every teams points allowed while at home and on the road and then looked at the two to see a change in performance over the last 2 and a half seasons. I excluded any neutral site games.

The last column, Performance Change, is the percentage change in PPG that they average on the road, vs what they do at home. The lower the percentage, the more consistent your defense whether home or away. This is not an indictment on whether or not your defense is good. Look at Ole Miss for example, they have the 2nd best consistency on their defense, but they rank 8th in the SEC in PPG at home. Their defense performs ~11% worse on the road.. so not a huge difference whether home or away. Surprisingly, Vanderbilt and Miss State actually perform better on the road. Or maybe not surprisingly when you figure Vandy averages 15 fans a game and Miss State players probably hate cowbells.

For us, there is a larger difference. We are 8th. When we are on the road the defense performs ~64% worse then it does when we are at home. We are 5th in the SEC over this time period in defensive PPG while at home. We are 9th in the SEC over this time period in defensive PPG on the road. Tomorrow, if I have time, I'm going to look at this same thing but for offense.

Just curious, did you include the cupcake games? I am assuming yes, and that does have an impact. Still, the numbers are telling.

I did in this version. I mentioned in a different post that I want to do an SEC only version and also a year by year version too though. Might do that tonight if I have the time.

Kind of makes our ridiculing Kentucky football by saying “let’s go Krogering” kind of moot now.
Not really, that's their football field...and Rupp has a corporate name, too. Let's face it, people say "let's go Krogering" because we are dominant on the field in that series. If they were dominant, no one would really care.

There's a lot of different tells between a Cooper's and a Sharp Shinned but they're only easy to see when they're close. Far away it's much easier to get them confused. Same with Broad shouldered, Red shouldered, and Red tailed hawks
Any differences in their calls? Or are they also too similar to differentiate by sound?

Feel free to move to the bird thread in the Pub.

I trust you on that. I haven't done a deep dive into the Accipiters. Especially bc I have a friend who did her Master's degree on them so I usually just send her hawk questions. It's easier than an ADHD fueled, hyperfixation marathon lolol
Just curious, what does one do with a Masters Degree in Hawk?

tons of stuff to do as a bird biologist. Her masters work just happened to be on hawks I think. A lot of bird population surveys. Could work for state agencies and NGOs on waterfowl biology, upland game birds. Or songbird populations and habitat assessments. Lots of stuff.

In the biology fields what you did your masters project on isn't necessarily the most important thing or what you end up doing. Its just a demonstration that you can follow the scientific process and understand the standard methods of experimental design and data collection. So I've got friends at Miss State and LSU that have done or are doing research projects on vultures, hawks, waterfowl, quail, dozens of songbirds, marsh hens, and bitterns.

Everyone look at this wack job😭😂😂 run that S**t back then jimmy

What's he going to say? "Well, our guys got their asses handed to them and lost by almost 60 points. Also, they brought it on themselves by being disrespectful and mouthy. The loss would have been easier if our guys had at least handled themselves with class."

Or: "Let's not talk about the score. Our guys are classy (and their shower hygiene is first rate)!"
