Not debating who's better. I'm just saying as a true freshman with our limitations at other positions on offense Nico isn't drastically better as a QB. He's not going to be the factor that wins any game remaining on the schedule.

I mean, I think he gives our offense a better shot just by keeping the defense more honest.

The negative part of me is concerned why we trot herring out there repeatedly. He’s bad, he’s been bad, it doesn’t appear he’s gotten better through the year

He’s been a very good in the box LB for run support. Wonder if it’s a situation where they didn’t trust the depth to be consistent enough and thought it would be better to have consistency and run support vs any type of mistake.

Of course there was no adjustment when they kept on isolating him but I think we really missed Arion this game

Yes, but the LBs failed to clean up DL mistakes all day - in the run game, bail-out passing game to the flats, and QB scramble game.

There is something about the Heupel system or process that is harder on the road - calling in plays, seeing defensive alignment, etc.

But something isn’t working.

It works in stretches. The first half at Alabama it was just fine. Still an impressive half of football when you look back on it.

You are right - the road issues are a legit concern now. But it seems to me there are just enough good stretches to make me think they are correctable.

Not sure MO sold out for the run. They sold out for the deep ball. Looked like most of the time we had favorable numbers in the run game and just couldn’t produce.

They played a lot of 3-4 with shading into the box.

It took away the run a lot of the underneath stuff.

Yes and no........ Think about what we lose, what worked for us this year and what didn't..... And what we have coming in for next year.

Any way you crack it there are holes and uncertainties for the roster going into next season. O line, interior D line and pass rush depth are concerns, as well as TE .

I don't see us taking a step forward next year. Going to be about the same IMO

With the portal I’m not going to take a hard stance until the team is finalized. But even if the team is the same I think a consistent 8-9 win team is an underrated accomplishment. I would absolutely be disappointed but normally line play is what separates good from elite teams and that is the hardest thing to build from the portal

Fair enough. I truly do think we’re thin at LB with Carter and Pilli out. That said, it’s fully on the staff to adjust and find a way to not let an average rushing attack run all over our defense.

As much as we love Garner, but this sh*t is on him too. DL not filling their gaps as much as LB weren’t

I think they keyed on him. They knew he was bad in coverage and beat him up when they saw him playing.

Dline did a bad job keeping contain on QB, especially on 3rd. McCollough and Herring got toasted by the RB. Looked like they were slow and making wrong read all game.

Was tough to watch.
