I want to be mad and complain, because Heup and Co deserve at after tonight, but the level of lunacy just makes it difficult not to end up defending the guy.

There are people on the post-games talking about Danny White needing to start making his prospective coach list. What do you even do with that?
Dumbasses.

These same idiots are gonna be the biggest cry-babies when, because of this pack of idiots, Heupel packs his bags for another job the first chance he gets.

I think Heup fully understands the other side of our fanbase’s passion (stupidity). I don’t think he’s mentally fragile either.

Alright - back to bed so I can get my sleep schedule back on track

Disappointed to wake up to the news of such a bad loss, but life goes on! These things just don’t affect my mood like they once did. Life is too short to let my chosen entertainment outlet (college football) ruin it.

Go Vols!

I am absolutely dead 😂 Our fans are just wild. Listening to Voluntary Reaction and this fool said he is out on Josh Heupel and talked about how “What does this guy do if he isn’t winning football games? He’s done nothing to endear himself to the local community. When’s the last time he’s walked into Liton’s and bought the entire restaurant a burger?”

I’m ****ing dead. 😂😂😂😂
Not that much better here, frankly. And this is the sane asylum.

This is fair and why no one should be talking about firing/hot seat-ing Heupel over this season. That said, the staff set expectations last year for their tenure here, for better or worse. We can have a great season, competitive to our recent history, and it still be a disappointment.

This somewhat alludes to my earlier post about Heupel possibly being a Richt-like coach for us. I hope it’s not true and he’s our Smart, but that’s yet to be seen.
Richt could never elevate his talent.

Heupel took us to #1 last year with the #19 talent. Wait till our b2b2b top 10 classes are entrenched...

Nah, I get called a troll when I say this.

Interesting thread of thought. For my part, I don’t think Richt v. Smart is the right comparison because I think Tennessee is just a different program than Georgia at this point in history.

I’ve long ago concluded Tennessee will never have runs like UGA and Alabama - there just isn’t the ability to stockpile elite talent year in and year out.

But I still think it can recruit well enough to periodically catch lightening in a bottle with a great QB and win a title.

My question is can our coach create and seize that moment. We saw a glimpse of it last year. It makes me think Heupel can.
While our history/tradition far outweighs that of UGA, I agree. That doesn’t matter as much in the current landscape and we don’t have the homegrown talent. That said, the playing field is certainly evening with the transfer portal and NIL. Can we become a major player in the new era and sustain 9-11 wins? That is the big question for me.

What we also need to realize that Kirby and Saban didn’t have losses like this in year 3. Anyone thinking Huepel is going to win a natty, might need to rethink. He is an excellent coach and might sneak one in but not elite.

I’ll take a SEC Title or a National Title that is snuck in any day of the week.
