Need a lot of help in the transfer portal for Oline, WR, and other positions. Those that thought at the first of the season we didn't need to worry about WR because of the success of last year were wrong. Hopefully we can upgrade. We have some young studs coming in but others will need to step up, maybe Bru comes back, and we definitely need a play maker in the portal.

Folks are seeing this year that Heup is a good coach, but not a great coach yet, he still has a LOT to learn, especially playing at the level of SEC play.

He's gotten flat out-coached in several games this season. Sure Mizz is a really good team, but how did they do that so quickly? Look at our game with them the last two seasons vs last night... What dramatically changed on the rosters from last year to this year? No reason from a roster talent perspective that we should have gotten beat like that...

Milton... the guy tries his best, but as we've said and seen before, he's just not it. The only real criticism I have at this point is his timidness to run and make quick decisions. You can tell he absolutely does not like contact but is forcing himself to do it. That Mizz QB last night is half his size and would run him over and take his lunch money.

Last week I was a troll for saying we needed to get Banks out ASAP and the next two weeks (Mizz/GA) weren't going to be pretty... the narrative has changed quick on here after yesterday... A few saying they'd want Mason. I still say from last week a good fit would be Z Arnett, the Miss St interim HC is a great and well respected DC who's been in the SEC. Looking at how they will finish the season, he will most likely not be asked back next season and will be available.

I agree with what a few others have mentioned that based on the current level of AL GA OHST MICH as the first tier, then you have LSU OK CLEM AU USC TAMU TX FL FLST and maybe one or two others as the second tier--- we may be able to work into the second tier consistently, but it will be tough and will take consistent wins recruiting/NIL.

I do not see us consistently winning more than 8 for a while or maybe a very long time unless a few things change. We can have some good seasons where we make a deep run, but the top tier and high second tier will need to be down or altered.

I am really going to be interested in this GA game and how this staff and players respond to this arse whooping we got yesterday. Do we roll over like UT teams of the past, or do we take pride in ourselves and the program and fight for 4 quarters (not running into the back of Mays every other play). We better be opening up the play book and taking shots/risks, because now we've got nothing to lose.

Last night this Mizz game was our SC game from a year ago... Just doesn't make sense.

Most likely lose BJM when Banks leaves. Martinez contract is up in January. That’s three gone. You move Eckler to ST coach only and bring in a new DB, DC, and LB coach. Pretty easy.

We have enough money to get whatever DC we want. Danny White will be sure we get whoever we want. Football drives the operation and we have to have it running well.
They wanted three years of stability, and they got it. Now it's going to domino, and CJH has been resistant to that. Shuffling staff and promoting from within toes the line between maintaining stability and getting stale. A new DC has to be able to make changes and bring a fresh perspective. And the existing staff has to be open to that. Just need to be sure it's productive change, not change for the sake of change.

He was an OC…but I guess he could learn. 🤔
If Vrabel happened to go back to Patriots as HC...do you think Mayo would even consider coming back to college to be a DC or is his goal to be a HC in NFL? As of now isn't his title CO-DC of Patriots???.

Your expectations were out of line with reality.

We lost a Heisman finalist, a Biletnikoff winner, another absolute stud at WR, a top 10 overall drafted OL, another stud on the OL, an animal on the DL, our do it all H-back, our OC….

….and you expected what, 10 wins again? 9-3 was always an extremely successful season for this year’s team with 8-4 a real and likely possibility.
8-4 was bare minimum for the season unless we were a bad team. Our schedule was soft and we lost to every decent team we played.

It's gonna be funny watching how fast the window lickers flip from being out on Heupel to being mad A&M could come for him.

Some folks need to get their head out of their arse and realize we have one of the top coaches in the country, period.
Heupel I’m good with. The puppet OC Halzle I don’t care for but my problem is mostly with the defensive side of the ball, particularly the DC and the back half.

I think that course has been set for awhile. He’s been more highly regarded than Demeco Ryans, but locked in with the Pats as Belichick’s successor imo.

So are you anticipating a new dc for next year?

Pretty sure Heupel will be making the hire, not DW. Unless you just mean that DW won’t allow money to stop Heup from getting who he wants when/if that time comes.

Which it won’t bc we’re still 3rd in the SEC giving up 20.2 ppg. Bama is at 18.1 and UGA 15.6
Danny white will have input but it will be who Heup wants too. He won’t let money be a problem if it is who will get us winning.

i use to feel this way but now i realize how hard it is to win any game….. As long as we are growing…. we don’t need to get too over the top with our complaints…. There are obviously things that need to be worked on and hopefully Heup can keep growing this program.

Why would they hire Heupel? What has he done that would get them over an Orange bowl win in 2021 over UNC and 8-4 seasons they’re accustomed to?
