Is UT invested in providing the resources to be elite? Yes. People who say UT cannot do what UGA and Bama are doing are wrong. UT has done what UGA and Bama are doing. All of the Big 6 + aTm are willing to invest in elite programs. I will say UT is less ruthless and more committed to character, academics and winning "the right way" than some programs. And we have less media support.Does that happen to include us?
Jefferson probably stays another year, I don't think he's projected to be drafted.I see 7 guaranteed wins next year. Arkansas and Mississippi State are struggling and Arky loses Jefferson. Kentucky at home. Vandy is Vandy.
Likely win against Florida and NC State, toss up at Oklahoma, and unlikely at Georgia and against Bama.
It'll be a reset year with a new QB, new starting RB, largely new OL and this staff has still built us up to be a Top 25 team even in years of turnover from recruiting and development. It's been a long time since we could say that. Going to be growing pains, but it's only going up from here. Question is whether or not we can capitalize on a potential generational QB and if we're able to reload after he's gone.
I'll give him a pass on the offensive side of the ball. He's handicapped on that side of the ball with a qb that can't run the offense. He lost a ton of production on that side of the ball via graduation and the NFL not to mention a first rounder at right tackle. Add to that a huge piece of the puzzle in Bru. Their are zero excuses on the defense. They're no better than they were year one under Heup, maybe worse.
Probably not. But he has been. IDT he's content with either side of the ball. Multiple things have happened this year that have been pivotal. Some players have not performed as expected, some position groups have been an issue, some injuries have been difficult to overcome, some recruiting misses have hurt, playcalling has been limited and adjustments have been less nimble. I agree with you, but we're going to have to win with what we have and make smart choices postseason.
Sure… Bammer and Georgia invest. It’s a constant fight for championships and for Tennessee to ever have a shot at one there can’t be weak pu$$y minded thinking of oh well we’ll settle for 8-4 in year 7 that’s all that we’ll ever get.I’ll believe it when I see it. A&M is proof that money doesn’t buy wins.
Which is why, ill never get to witness TN winning a football title. Is UT invested in providing the resources to be elite? Yes. People who say UT cannot do what UGA and Bama are doing are wrong. Sure and that’s a fair and much better argumentYou are right. Then it is definitely the QB because those guys threw for over 3k a year…..
What is the take with the Nico situation? Is he going to be as good as advertised? Or should we be concerned the offense next year might be just as rough?
Reminded so much of last years usc game. Hopefully we can find and fix the problem. The explanation doesn't help-- we have to find a way to win winnable games in spite of it. Sometimes, the other team is just better. Sometimes, we hand them the win. Yesterday, UT handed Mizzou the win. They played harder, they played smarter, they schemed better, they fought the entire game, they were determined to win and they did. UT was flat from the first series, and it permeated throughout the team. Figure out why and fix it.
People forget where we were in the not so distant past. It takes time and this administration seems to have a plan for The Athletic Department as a whole and that alone is promising by itself. Is UT invested in providing the resources to be elite? Yes.
