The running game was a huge part of Art's system. I've seen it referred to as the "smashmouth spread," and Heupel took Briles' running concepts. One year, Baylor ran for 645 yards in a bowl game against UNC. Baylor had two 1,000 yard rushers in 2015. Briles wanted to run the football.Art’s style was more passing…I think clawson’s was more of a run first offense i could be wrong…I try not to remember much from that year.offense was horrible I remembered that much

Also not for nothing you know people who say "was a Marine" haven't spent much time around Marines lol.
I'm not convinced about them either way just yet. Just don't know for sure. One thing I am sure of is that both those guys are severely limited due to the talent they have to work with.If you think Banks/Martinez are the answers, you shouldn't advocate for a change.
If you think either are an Achilles heel, you should advocate for change.
You should never settle for mediocre coaches just because a few players might not like the change. To he honest, it's not fair to those players to not give them the absolute best coaching. That's the job of every coach - putting them in the best possible position to succeed.
Which is exactly what @LA Vol has said. This Tennessee isn’t 3 years ago Tennessee. Veteran candidates said thanks but no thanks. Had to settle on the staff. Now it’s open season3 years ago was 3 years ago. It's a much, much more attractive job now. You're either trolling or you really haven't a clue.
Sure and they've been getting highly rated kids, but it's not ready yet. This is only their 3rd year at UT. And let's be real, no stud recruits were buying this program or the staff until they saw some proof that the corner was turned. That first class was an uphill climb from the jump. We are what we are until these older guys are gone and the youth is served.Whose job is it to recruit that talent? Not theirs? Lol.
Here is Rocky Top Insider describing how, especially on offense, the issue is NOT coaching or play calling or offensive coordinator... it came down to repeated issues with players not executing properly play after play. I thought this was obvious when watching the game, so it was weird watching people on here blame the coaching when the clear issue was far more poor execution on offense.
And don't try to say, "WelL tHe CoacHeS aRe RespoNSibLe tO gEt ThEm REadY." That's a bad argument because this team hasn't played that poorly all year or last. That game was the worst I have seen the players do under Heupel since he got here. They simply got in their heads and did NOT play to the level they were coached at.
100% agree on Dooley. I think Hamilton could have handled Kiffin better, but overall not a bad decision.Kiffin admits he was immature, but he was always going to SC if offered. His contract just made it easy. Still, UT could have righted the ship quickly. IDT Hamilton was wrong about everything, but he did not handle any of it well. Hiring Dooley because he brought a big binder full of ideas and his daddy was an SEC legend kneecapped the program.
