NM. It's fake.

Kinda funny how the support to "get paid" fades just a wee bit when the money comes from our pockets instead of those who "are rich and can afford it". Folks always insist the deep pockets step up and fund things but when it's their money not so much.

I support players getting paid.

I’ll never in my life venmo a player for a good play and think it’s a silly idea.

To be fair, FSU was named the National Champs with one loss over an undefeated Nebraska in 1993.
FSU beat Nebraska in the Orange Bowl, in a #1 vs #2 matchup. FSU did finish ahead/won national title of/over Notre Dame, who beat them earlier in the season. ND finished season at #2.

Duke is a stepping stone program. I don't think this a bad hire for Duke at all. South Carolina same thing. I complain when Heupel doesn't win 10 games but if I take a step back I'm happy with the season. JMO but there's 4 coaches that are a sure thing to get top results and 2 of them aren't leaving their current job, 1 isn't coaching right now, and the other you probably won't get unless he gets canned for cheating. Ohio State should realllly take a look around talking about firing a coach winning 11 games every year.
Right, but my point was that if you can't be decent at Florida, you DEFINITELY can't be decent at South Carolina in the same conference but with fewer resources and harder recruiting.

Same with Miami. If you got fired from Miami for not having enough success, no way you'll have better results at Duke.

okay so---

Seaton-- wants big bag
Wells-- wants big bag
Nolan-- wants big bag
probably 3-4 more we are potentially on --- want a big bag

Everyone says our NIL Collective is one of the best in the country.

We've already missed on several key guys this recruiting cycle because they apparently wanted too big of a bag than we were able or wanted to give them.

If we miss on Seaton and Wells, then folks need stop with the "we don't overpay" and "our NIL is one of the best" crap. We don't have the funds.

Only other excuse to give is "we have the funds, we just don't want to use them on those kids/positions"... okay, then we will go with what we've got. BUT, next season when other schools have chosen to hand over those "bags" and upgraded with day 1 difference makers and this staff has chosen to roll with what they got, then this staff has ZERO excuses when and if we get out-performed on the field and take some L's. Can't have it both ways.

Wells has injury history that could prevent paying a big bag.

Nolen has a history with this staff that could prevent paying big bag, or any bag. None of us know that for sure so it could be overblown.

Not every situation is the same.

is Walz a huge improvement…. He hasn’t made the championship game since 2013…. and only made one final four since….. Last year… he lost to South Dakota State and Middle Tennessee State.
Louisville.

Cannot recruit to there just like they cannot recruit to UK. It will not matter who they hire soon because the tradition is being lost as each season of mediocrity passes.

Mookie pointed out the disaster behind it, but my issue is once again it's just hurting the fans pockets, at some point this money needs to come from the schools.

It’s headed in that direction. Just takes a little time. Look how long it took for players to be able to make money off their own name.

After our 2023 season, here is the update to my All-Time AP Poll Rankings for the Vols.

Offers some perspective on where we were in the recent and distant past.

Here's a Zoom on only the Post-Fulmer Era.
We were ranked in 23 polls from 2009-2020.
We have been ranked in 29 polls from 2021-2023.

No collective has unlimited resources man.
Never said that. This place is hilarious with how they misread posts... Can't say our collective is the best and yet we keep over and over getting outbid or "pass" because we don't want to pay that much... that's quickly turning into a BS excuse. If we see we pay big here and there on one or two kids, and pass on others, then that makes sense... show me where we've gotten a big bag kid lately... I'll hang up and listen.

Respectfully, please point out in my post where I called you names. I also didn’t attack you. I just said the decision would be a stupid one if our athletic department went that direction.

You called my idea stupid so indirectly I see that as an insult.

Move on….no harm, no foul.

My family knew Pat and knows Kara. I just think her tenacity, knowledge and drive would be a good fit for the LV’s. I think Pat would say the same. I also think Pat would want what is best for the program, even if that required going outside of “the tree”.

GBO!

Eh I agree a little but he wasn't awful at Florida, their bar is just higher than 7 win seasons. He was decent at South carolina for 3 years but then kinda fell off a cliff so I get why they canned him. I think just depends on the programs winning history, which is why I mentioned tOSU somehow being unhappy with 11 wins a year. Diaz's worst season was 6-7 at Miami. He'll be the HC at Duke for 10 years if he wins 6 per year. I don't think Diaz would have even been fired at Miami for a while, they just had Cristobal ready to go in the background and *thought* they were making an upgrade. I think 99% of head coaches are overpaid middle school gym teachers. Cristobal owns easily one of the worst coaching decisions ever, maybe the worst. Even Kirby, who I list as 1/4 coaches that are a sure thing owns one of those with the Justin Fields fake punt against Bama.
