Was Jimbo's hot seat any less hot when he picked Texas A&M? I mean they were coming off an amazing 8-4 season...Nolen's first year they went 5-7 why UT was going 11-2...

He can come to the Hill though and all will be forgiven!

Not saying he made a good choice, just that he’s prob not in the portal if coach doesn’t get fired

I posted this in another thread but here is the list of prep and JUCO kids we have left on our board and their 247 grade:

Sensabaugh, 86
Cole Harrison 83
Kensucky tight end 87
Chanz Wiggins 86
Jamal Wallace unranked
Kamari Copeland 85
Brien Taylor 88

Not an impressive list.

I’d be all for just filling our remaining spots with portal kids.

I like Copeland, but it wouldn’t bother me at all if we went straight portal from here on out.

Yeah staff kind of shat the bed closing this recruiting year. Hopefully we can make some more portal noise. 12-15th isn't going to win championships

Dan White throughout his resume at several stops, has never appeared to be satisfied with even mediocre results out of any sport under his watch…women or men. He’s never been at this level of program with its histories and legacies, so he gave Kelly full license to sink or swim…that was some sinking yesterday along with the blown leads in other duds. I have no doubt he’ll go full Kim Mulkey type in the replacement search and bring his checkbook. Once again, Jeff Walz on top of my personal preference. Another poster placed understandable concern on his trek since his last Final Four appearance. My opinion is that is proof that Louisville doesn’t have the same commitment to the women’s program and he’s gettable.
Hasn't been the same at Louisville since there was serious smoke that he was coming to Knoxville. I think it damaged some relationships for him and might have had some ancillary effect on recruiting.

We have so many posters who just are not built for recruiting. I think I might be one of them because I freaking hate it right now.

Seems we have some coaches that aren’t built for recruiting either.

Haven’t had a commitment since August, but we’ve been the bridesmaid a dozen times during that time.

Staff can’t close but at least the staff is likeable and feels like family.

You're spending too much time on Banks, who's trying his best to find a good spot, when Pretty Holly needs your immediate attention. It's going to take far more effort to move her along.

That’s what concerns me somewhat with Harper. It’s much harder to force a VFL out as HC. It’s difficult for any program to push away a beloved alum.

Unfortunately, the writing is on the wall for Harper, and I hope the inevitable exit is smooth. I trust our current admin to handle it gracefully.

That smoke was probably created by agents and media. I do not think he was ever in play at UT. That may have been mutual, but there were definitely headwinds in Knoxville. Strong ones.

It’s a grind. I couldn’t imagine hopping on planes every day, being away from home, and talking to multiple kids and families every day. It’s not just physically exhausting. It’s also a toll on anyone’s social battery.

Just an opinion. OL prospects and sometimes DL prospects are hardest to project. I liked Warren better than Seaton before today's idiocy. Talked about academics, parents were involved in looking at the University and not the Check. More than likely that translates to better coachabliity and work ethic. I think moving forward you will see a few OL guys signed out of high school with more and more coming from the portal. Also, a kid who is a Blue Chip out of HS (Hardy) and a kid who is a project out of high school will sort themselves out after a couple of years in college. Seaton may end up making the NFL Hall of Fame, but if I had to guess, UNLESS something changes he will be an afterthought in a couple of years.
Like the great Charles Haley once said, “The game is 90% mental.” Guys seeking fortune and fame often fail to get the mental part down because their brain is too occupied elsewhere.
