So just for reference, between the three of you, how many successful programs have you built?

I suspect they close the way they do because they want kids who want to be there. If that causes some to go elsewhere, apparently they are OK with losing some. Fits with the TB narrative. "can't close" != "dislike high pressure close"

They literally started the show answering a question from a poster asking about concerns re: this staffs recruiting with how they need to learn to close bettter, get kids to shut stuff down, how too many kids come here and love it but then go elsewhere and how the staff needs to be better there.

Of course they were complimentary of the staff. They just put together a good class. But it can be better and needs to be if we want to be elite. They talked about that as well as well.

I sign the top class every year on NCAA '14. I signed 11 five stars this past year and the rest of the recruits have five star hearts.

If AP and Hubbs just had a podcast that was a consistent 45-minute complaining about the staff's ability to close you'd be on to something.

Sure, every now and then you'll give a nod to the fact that the staff is recruiting well (enough), but the volume of your harping on their closing has faaaaaarrrr outweighed that. It's one thing to exercise your right to criticize; no coach is beyond that. It's another entirely to be a constant, annoying drip.

No, I’m on to something now. They validated it.

The staff recruits well. Helps with NIL and like we’ve always said, Tennessee recruits itself. But one of the issues this staff has is they struggle to close.

Keep your head in the sand thinking the staff is flawless.

Basically this. It’s not unfair to make comments occasionally that the staff needs to be a bit better if we want to be an elite program. But the incessant whining can just be exhausting. I don’t understand “fans” who do nothing but complain.
