So who do y’all think will be Nico’s favorite WR target during the game?
Smart money is White. Of course, Iowa knows this, too. I've just got a feeling this staff will try to protect Nico. I don't think they'll have the faith in Nimrod and Webb to open things up. I think we'll see a similar offense to what Milton had at his disposal. Likely see more TE and maybe a few more RB in the passing game. Something tells me we'll rely heavily on our running game....for better or worse. Long winded way of saying that I think we'll play a style of offense that plays into what Iowa wants and it will be a close, nail biter of a contest. I'd love to think the staff would sit down with Nico and tell him that they're going to run the full offense and that he doesn't need to sweat the mistakes. Just learn and play loose and free. Have a hard time seeing this happen tho.

young college guys that feel like they were done wrong and had something that they worked so hard stolen from them…. it is hard to get up for a lesser game.
I would think, with the opportunity to play the team that was rated No 1 in the nation most of the regular season, that is the defending national champion, that a player with a true competitive mindset could really get psyched to play them and show that *#%! Committee just how wrong they were….

I’ve always been the type of person that, when someone tells me I can’t do something, I become even more intensely focused on proving that I can.

Wow - lot’s of commas in those sentences! 🤪

The Michigan/ gump game came up in a discussion at the end of the day at work. There are 3 guys in my dept...I'm 48, one guy is 40, the other is 28. I asked them which SEC team they hated the most. The 40 yr old said Florida and the youngest said Georgia. I'm guessing you're in your 20s. If I asked someone in their 70s, the answer would probably be Vanderbilt.

*I'm old enough to remember the SEC before the east/west divisions were formed. The TSIO was the game of the year. When the divisions were formed, Florida became our biggest rival to some, because we battled them for the eastern division title. I still don't consider Georgia a rival. I hate that they are better than us right now, but I don't loathe them like I do bama and florida.

*Having more hate for Michigan than Alabama, doesn't make sense, even with your examples. Are you from the north?

I'm 29. I don't understand the Georgia answer much but maybe that's a personal thing for that guy. Florida takes the #1 spot by a good margin for me. I just don't really put Bama/Georgia in the "hate them" category and Michigan I certainly do but mostly for basketball purposes. I understand the Bama hatred/rivalry historically but we've only been competitive 3-4 times max since 2009 when Lane Kiffin and my dad got me interested in watching sports. I've been to probably 5-8 games each against Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, home and away, and somehow I've seen us win the same number of games against Florida/Bama at 1, and Georgia probably 3-4 times I've seen us win. The Bama games I went to mostly expecting to lose for better or worse, the Georgia game a mixed bag, and the Florida games I almost always went to expecting to win and we just crap the bed in ridiculous fashion. The way the Florida players act just adds to it. I think it's just deeply ingrained in their university to act like a piece of garbage. Not that Bama and Georgia are choir boys but they always act 10x better than Florida players. Even Muschamp said some cocky line of "I love seeing all these people come out to get disappointed". You don't hear Saban/Kirby/Richt saying that crap, not to my knowledge at least.

I can't see us adding Stewart with Bru coming back.....I'd say that if Stewart is really trending to come here that means Bru is done.
While I like Bru, I would find that an acceptable tradeoff. Bru is a great perimeter blocker but his routes and speed are not elite. I think Brazzell will be our big possession receiver going forward. Bru may not even be fully recovered from his injury for next season.

Yeah....can't call it bourbon if it's not made in KY. Can't call it scotch....

Bourbons don't have to be made in KY, just the USofA.

Seems some of us are damned if we hold an alternate idea, which doesn't toe the Company line.
"Damned", huh? lol Seems some of you are incredibly thin skinned, melodramatic and want to post your opinion without them being subjected to scrutiny.

You do realize how discussion forums work, right?

How about tone down the victim complex? Online discussion isn't Auschwitz.

My barber is a Louisville fan and said they were missing 20+ guys

Heck, Tennessee has got to be missing 15+ at this point

These bowls are just exhibitions nowadays
Not to me, they're not. Also, it counts on the official season record and all stats generated count as well. I get what you are saying, but it is way more than just an exhibition.

I think we’ll see Nico run a fair amount. That will definitely open things up a bit.

In my opinion, their specialty is the same as KY's. Their specialty is defense and consistency of staffing and scheme, but their claim to success over KY is they play in one of the most lopsidedly bad divisions in all of CFB. The coach has been there forever; he plays a less athletic ball style, but talented white boys can still excel. That is his recruiting base. That is not meant to be racist either; go look at the team photo.

The better news for you and to your point is that Ferentz is to defensive success what Heupel is to offense. I like the offensive-focused scheme more in this current football game than the model Ferentz uses. Not only for success on the field but for success in recruiting. Who doesn't want to play in an exciting scheme?
Played two decent teams this year neither of which had offenses as good as ours. Much rather have our results than have to suffer through garbage like this.
