I will be worried if we are in this situation after the April Portal ends. Not now
Sure. But the Spring Portal and the Winter Portal are two different things.

Kinda like fishing in Blue Chip waters vs 3 Star waters. You can find good players in both - they’re just harder to find in the 3 Star waters.

There’s also the compressed acclimation period that comes with Spring Portal additions. The Winter Portal is preferable, but it is what it is.

Tua just isn’t a QB that can turn the tide when things are going wrong and make plays off the cuff. He has elite anticipation and accuracy.. but that’s really it.. and really once you rattle him some even those traits disappear. It’s really good when things go right but against really good defenses and in the playoffs things will rarely go right. Is what it is, and we are probably stuck with him the next few years.

Tua is SO overrated. My lord. Just folds in every big game.
The 2023 Dolphins have been an amazing team to watch. They steamroll bad teams, but seem to lose to pretty much anybody with a pulse (and usually by beat-down margins). I don't even consider Buffalo to be a great team this year, but I predicted they'd take out the Dolphins today. The best team the Dolphins have beaten is the Cowboys, and they're a Jekyll and Hyde team themselves.

That’s the point……-6 and DFL.
I know, but I actually watched pretty much the whole tournament. Kirk won at 29-under par. If you weren’t shooting at least 5 or 6 under par every round, you were getting lapped by the field. Sunjae Im shot 34 birdies, a new 72-hole PGA tour tournament record, and he finished tied for 5th at 25-under par. He had too many bogeys. They said this course has the lowest average score to par on the PGA tour pretty much every year.

Eh, The season started going off the rails around mid year when injuries started taking out important players. The model below is Wins Above Replacement.. aka, how many and how valuable have a teams injuries been. It’s not a perfect measurement as value is subjective, but still the Dolphins led the league in most value lost to injuries on defense, and we’re about 5th or 6th most value lost on offense. Combine those two and no one else is really close

Saw a different stat the other day that I can’t find now but it said the Dolphins were the only team with a winning record that had back up offensive lineman with over 30% snap share on the season.. Dolphins was 47% going into tonight. Next closest team with a winning record was at 27%.. all other teams with a winning record were 15% or below and a good chunk under 5%. Dolphins only had their full starting OL one game all season.. guess which game that was? Yup, Denver.

It’s the NFL though. Everyone is banged up. Can’t use it as an excuse and they need to find ways to win regardless. Depth killed us but we had plenty of opportunities to still win games and couldn’t. 4 of the 6 losses were by less than 1 score. Chances were there but they choked.

For those that need it.

January 8, 2024: You are entering a season that will be like no other. Do not be afraid of change or challenges. I have been with you every step of the way, and I will continue to go the distance with you, says the Lord. Lean on Me for direction and guidance as we go forth together. Psalm 25:5 Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

So AP and Hubbs have said that there is a lot of dead weight on the OL, at this point, isn’t most of the reserves on the OL Elarbee recruits? Yet he is the one tasked with recruiting the guys to protect our $8 million QB?

I remember news coming out of Fall camp that there were too many whiffs on OL recruiting. They could tell already that a lot of them were not going to work out. TB said Elarbee and CJH are close friends IRL so it’s unlikely you’ll see a change there.

So the coaches are the most tight-lipped we have seen in a long time, the track record of predictions from the AP/Hubbs crowd this year has been much worse than normal, and we really have no idea what we have and don't have on our OL, but we are going to borrow trouble and worry about a coach with a fantastic track record throughout his career who just brought us two great years in a row of offensive performances and just signed two good/great OL classes in a row with NCAA sanctions and scholarship reductions hanging over his head?

I just don't think focusing energy on fahring Elarbee is useful, but yall go right ahead.

Nothing will improve OL recruiting quite like the threat of a VN fahrin'. Get with the program slacker.
