Feel like there’s a lot of overreaction in here this weekend. Feel pretty confident we’ll get another OT from the portal at some point. Have enough guys on the roster that we should be able to find a solid option at guard imo

probably. but to whiff on three after losing the Minced Gator, compounds the myriad misses through last three cycles.

Recruiting has been good, not great.

Now you HAVE to find someone, anyone. Cant trot a walk out there.

Agreed, but the 2 OT’s haven’t even committed yet. Let’s at least see how it plays out before going full panic mode.

Everyone expecting us to be able to cruit like Bama/UGA/OSU/etc after the last 20 years plus cornbread's NCAA debacle is really probably not realistic. We have the best coach that we could hope for in Heup. He is flawed like every other coach but I would rather have him right now than anyone. He was handed a gigantic pile of and has taken us to the Orange and Citrus bowls and great wins in both in 3 years. He is finally going to start having his recruits on the field in large numbers next year. Folks just need to relax. If you are fretting about our OL and OL cruiting (or cruiting in general) in January then maybe it's time to log out for a while and focus on more important things.

For the umpteenth time....it's a matter of time and reps. Why is that so hard to grasp? It's not like it's a piece of cake for an OL transfer to walk into fall camp and be repped and ready to roll in this offense. Having spring ball plus fall camp would make the transition easier. Not saying it's impossible, but there's a reason this staff was after these three guys and that they wanted them now. Spring practice might not be such a big deal for a guy like Cooper because he's lived it for several years. To expect a new face to just run with things after a short fall camp is a bit unrealistic.

Still do not have the money that Tennessee has available. Now I can buy that Heupel is trying to spend to build long term whereas Kiffin has a shorter time table in mind and is blowing all the cash to get there. If Heupel loses to Florida next year at home bc the Oline gets their ass handed to them much like this year he will have the fans calling for his head.

I have a guess who will be at the head of that line....

Spring ball starts in the spring. I know, that’s interesting.

And water is wet, but that doesn't change the fact that if we don't get help on the OL from the portal in this window, we're headed into spring with our current OL roster. Won't have an opportunity to add anyone until AFTER spring practice if I understand the transfer calendar correctly. That means, again, that anyone we add AFTER spring practice gets only fall camp to get up to speed on this offense and schemes. How many times do we hear how important bowl practice reps are for younger guys or new guys added to the program? Why do we encourage early entries so they can participate in spring practice if it's no big deal? Why would the staff try to grab these 3 guys now and not wait until after spring for those "better players" who just missed out on starting at their current schools? Reps matter. Chemistry and timing matter. Both take "time". The more you get, the better you become. I'll await another condescending, flip response on how the calendar works because I'm sure that's about all you'll have to offer in terms of an somewhat intelligent rebuttal.
