Atleast Ole Miss is trying to get better and patch up weaker spots while adding as much talent as possible across the board. We are over here with ppl trying to rationalize Dayne Davis at RT and literally no idea at LG.

Everyone hates on Dayne, but he gave up 0 pressures in his 2nd start at RT against Vandy. His first start at RT was against Georgia & he didn’t allow a sack or QB hit in that game.

In fact not once at RT all season did he allow a sack or hit. And he also didn’t allow a sack or hit when he was asked to play Center.

Ollie Lane, tons of actual stats & game film of him playing badly. But for Dayne that’s not really the case.

You’re comparing actual efforts from a college staff to message board mumbling.

To a point yes, but I think what a guy with multiple years is looking for versus a guy with one year are a little different.
Fair enough, but the OL guys we are discussing right now are trying to cash in because their stock is the highest. I guess I will agree with you more in regards to Heard, but he is still looking for the bag too. The others are on a 1 year plan.

That’s what scares me.

They started a former walk on at RT who likely would start next year and he tackled our own QB.

We need a RT desperately.
And a LG. And those are big picture concerns. But this past weekend, the selection set included a freshman we had no traction with who wants to play LT when we need a veteran RT, a guy who entered the portal in Kiffin's backpocket and a guy who wants to play close to home for family reasons and chose a home state school. So we had a drive-by, a no-show and a regretful pass. One weekend where nothing was in our favor isn't the issue.

Does the staff not believe in Karijc?

my daughter, regularly, will do this in a joking way....so when i say "hey, where'd you get that sweatshirt?", her response is some version of "why? you think i'm fat?"

feels a lot like that in here.
YES!!! It is like trying to have an adult conversation with a bunch of hysterical teenagers!

i think it's probably more about competitive depth. with his injury last year, probably didn't help....but i don't think he was doing bad when he played. but until/unless he's healthy and back to game ready....that position is a ?.

Do you think the style of fast paced offense Tennessee plays makes it somewhat more difficult to recruit the Offensive Lineman..

2024 class was a good haul of course...

But some big guys don't like running their @$$e$ off up and down the field..
I think people are trying to make it one thing when it's a bunch of different things. There were a few pivots this past weekend, but thinking UT was going to go 3-3 on OL was a setup for disappointment.

And thus where the frustration lies.

The guys that were recruited in the timeframe to help Nico are now playing at Charlotte.
Have you contacted CJH and offered him your service and expertise at talent evaluation? He's a pretty humble guy, I'd bet he would jump at the chance of bringing you on board.
