He is right and that will be the hardest part of following Saban…it’s not the X’s and O’s. It’s why Deboer would likely struggle and why someone like Sark would be the best option because of his time at Texas.

I'd guess if its Dalen Hayden. OSU asked him to reshirt in 2023 with promises of a much bigger role in 2024. Then they go out and sign Quayshawnnaman Judicans or whatever.

But RB isn't really a need for us at all.

Possibly Amari Jefferson? AP was all over how important Jefferson was to our class back in the day. Does Saban leaving re-open that door?

Tate Ratledge isn't in the portal, so I doubt they'd name drop that even if back channel conversations were taking place.

I'm trying to think of some Alabama guys who were close to us that picked them instead recently....

Has it been discussed how chitty it was for saban to announce his retirement after the ESD and the portal window closed?

Now, I know kids can enter the portal for 30 days after he's fired, but with the portal being open for weeks now, most teams have filled up. It'll be harder for alabama kids to find spots.

I'm just saying - there was a high profile recruit that made the comment THIS year that saban told him he'd be coaching for a while. That he wasn't going anywhere.

Such a scummy move. I'd expect nothing less from Saban. Held an advantage for years because Alabama cheated better than anyone.
