I totally still think the Vols are capable of a great season and a deep tourney run, but they’ve got to get more consistent.
We're consistently inconsistent. No one wants to hear it, but the simple truth is we're capable of beating anyone on any given night while also being capable of losing to any team on any given night. We run hot and cold.

Pat Forde too..
Agree!
Reporters like him are a in a dying industry. Hate it for them, but that's their problem. He barely has a job (he "works" at SI, which is essentially out of business). Clicking on his stuff 1) helps pay him and 2) satisfies his quest to enrage us. Talented writers work for The Athletic, etc. This guy lives off of scoops and clicks. His "reporting" is always inflammatory. Don't feed it. Ignore. Unsubscribe. Whatever. Just don't give this sad (and slightly bitter) guy and his bait more oxygen. We've got plenty of local writers (and aggregators) who can cover this story just fine.

Which has been pretty much every good team this year playing college basketball. That said, losing at home should never happen and we looked terrible until 3 minutes to go.. (Even looking that terrible we never got too far behind--they were an underrated team)

That’s a bison, not a bull. I believe you meant to use this emoji: 🐂. Maybe lay off the sour mash and stick with water for a few days. Based on your posting trend lately, you gotta detox. I may also recommend CBD, it may help mellow you out. Sorry you’re triggered by someone saying they trust the NYT over a schmuck like Pat Forde.

Edit: you also misspelled Ulysses E. McGill. If you’re going to attempt to play the Soggy Bottom Boys fanboy, at least get it right.
Newb.

Definitely not giving up on them. WTF the whole team slumped tonight plus we had Pat Adams not allowing our team to play defense. You would hope this can't happen again, especially at home.

It is, though. And a lot of what you posted isn’t legally accurate. I didn’t want to call you out on it, but since you called me out, here we are.
Nobody is calling anyone out. I'm just responding to your comment about my pessimism.

I didn't think I had to state this in my post, but all of that is only true under the assumption that the NCAA has findings that they believe violate their rules. The Supreme Court's ruling only limits their ability to restrict players' ability to earn money. They can still govern the relationship between NIL collective and the schools.

Like I said in my first post, I do think Tennessee will ultimately prevail whether it's through the courts or through the diminshing of the NCAA by the Power 5, but what are we going to lose during the process?

I'm not sure which parts of my argument you find legally inaccurate.

The Supreme Court basically told the NCAA, "You'd better not come here again". That's why the NCAA was so derelict on the NIL issue to start with. The last thing they want is more court cases.

If the NCAA rules Nico ineligible, UT gets a court injunction to play him until the case is settled.

And the NCAA doesn't get to conduct themselves any way they see fit just because they are a private org. As soon as that private org's way of conducting themselves unfairly costs UT and/or Nico, it becomes a matter for the courts.
Desperate clients will exhaust every avenue they can to win their case, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if the NCAA asked for certiorari by the Supreme Court.

Also, you act like Tennessee getting an injunction is a slam dunk. I don't think it's going to be that cut and dry.

Being a member school of the NCAA is a voluntary act, and you're agreeing to their governance by joining. If the NCAA has credible evidence of a violation, I'm not sure what type of claim against them UT would have in court, other than an extension of the Alston decision.

Yet again, time is the big issue here. All it takes is 2 or 3 games without Nico before an injunction is granted or under appeal to change the trajectory of the season.
