i think we missed 10 lay ups too. just frustrating that a team that's this good and had shown to be extremely consistent and efficient offensively lately is still capable of throwing up an absolute clunker of a game offensively. you know opponents are going to key on DK defensively, but with the experience we have on this team, you'd think it'd be a "pick your poison" match up and someone else, probably a couple of other guys on this team, could/should benefit from a scoring opportunity standpoint. but that's not happening. I love JJJ, and i think the world of him...but that guy should be a lot more aggressive with the ball in his hands and be able to get to a shot. he can't. Santi, love him too....but he's been very inconsistent.....long story short, i don't get the impression either of those guys wants the ball right now? it's weird. if ZZZ was 4" taller...man he'd be that guy. that kid...all heart...but his size does limit him from a scoring standpoint. We will have more games like this...people that want these players to change who they are as a shooter-scorer at this point in their career are setting themselves up for disappointment after disappointment.
We have several players that are prone to extremely cold spells and hot streaks as shooters, often several if them at the same time..and that is not going to change at this point. It is and has been a flaw, and will remain a flaw.
Still...we lost this game at the FT line...if we had shot a good percentage there, we still win the game despite Pat Adams repeatedly doing his thing and shutting off momentum.
The hope is that we don't have a game like this in March, and if we do have a game like this, we better force the other team into a bad shooting night or we will go home.
