These decisions are calculated. You dont just wake up and file a motion.I will say that the news we've learned today, especially the fact that a lawsuit from the State of Tennessee and the Commonwealth of Virginia has already been filed, has greatly reduced my concern. My argument was always about how much time would pass before Tennessee would get a positive resolution and what damage could take place within that timeframe. It's clear that Tennessee, all the way up to the governor, was prepared and ready to fight right now, and not wait until a notice of allegations was actually presented. I still think we might come out of this with a few bruises, but we're taking the fight to the NCAA head on, and I think we'll have plenty of support from other states. We will win the war.
Told y'all. Its micro penis syndrome.UT is on top of this NCAA investigation. Admin knew it was coming, and it was inevitable. The NCAA thought UT was not punished sufficiently last year, they did not like the support UT brought in and they were not through with UT. UT did not appreciate the way the NCAA said one thing and did another, and UT admin did not appreciate the late add-ons.
Everybody put a good public face on it, but neither side was happy with the other or the outcome of the investigation. Coming after UT as a repeat offender was always going to happen. The NCAA wanted to make an example out of big powerful school, and UT has been painted as a rogue program in multiple sports. (Hint: baseball.) This is unfinished business, and UT is prepared to finish it.
Donde goes to Mars to get more candy bars. All of this orchestrated, coordinated, and oooh man it feels nice.
That last part... That's important. The NCAA has been sniffing around UT for months. UT has looked into it internally and does not feel the university did anything wrong. This is a well-orchestrated campaign, months in the making. It comes from the top, there has been a top-notch legal team in place and there is widespread support, including our old friend in B'Ham.
