This will end badly for the NCAA. This is not UT vs the NCAA. This is the state of TN and commonwealth of VA, through their state attorney generals, vs the NCAA.
And its filed in the Eastern District of TN federal court. We will get a fair shake at the trial court level. Brilliant move by these AG's and governors to be ready to roll with this so soon after the NCAA leaked their investigation to Pat Forde. Appeal from the trial court is to the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, which is a conservative leaning court (10 out of 16 are Trump and Bush appointees).
Appeal from the 6th circuit is to the US Supreme Court which of course has a conservative majority. I have to believe our state leaders have had their powder dry, but loaded, for quite some time.
The leadership team of our state and great university have a great game plan in place. Time to execute it and put the NCAA in the place, or out of business.
Not that I am a fan of any dolt placed by those idgits. But, glad we are seeing action.

And we wouldve happily gone on our merry ways with status quo. But they had to start this BS.
Exactly. This is just vindictive BS. Everyone really does hate us.

I will say I've enjoyed the fanbases supporting us online. Shows they have some sense. Unlike some (UGA) fans popping in here and acting high and mighty. Give me a break.

For those that don't believe, or aren't convinced that there are dozens of other states that have considered this or are taking similar action need to think about the quickness of the response from Plowman, and the swiftness of the lawsuit.

Read the file, that's been written and thought about for some time......... Didn't just get drafted last night. Others have similar lawsuits drafted and ready to file as well.

What’s the connection with Virginia? Who has the NCAA been harassing there?
Our interests have been aligned since last year. UT has a friend in VA AG Jason Miyares, a JMU alum, who was ready to roll his sleeves up and invest VA's political capital in a mutual cause. None of this was impromptu-- it has been well-orchestrated.

Always keep in mind as this goes on...EVERYONE in the world, and I mean EVERYONE, knew/knows what went on at Bama for the last 17 years; as their players littered the internet with pictures of cars and cash...tale after tale of "taking pay cuts to go to the NFL"...year after year after year of signing classes never dreamed of...their HC bragging at press conferences about how much money his QB was making...so on and so on and so on...

...their baseball coach getting caught in a gambling scandal...

...their basketball coach and players having their hands in a girl's murder, and then practically bragging about it...

...ALL OF IT; and, not even a glance in their direction. Not one single raised eyebrow at what's been going on there; and, now...talk about making Saban king of all college football!!

I hope we burn these motherf'ers to the ground. I'm talking, leaving nothing but destruction, weeping, and fear in our wake. If we don't, and we get hit with ANYTHING, big or small, if we lose a waterboy scholarship, or an equipment manager over this...I believe that will be it for me.

I am so f-ing sick of corruption, everywhere I turn these days. It has seeped into every single aspect there is, it seems; and, I hope to see a stand made against it in this. I know victory comes for the righteous, in the end...I want to see one with this, as well; for idk if I'm righteous enough.

Feeling heavy this morning, forgive me. This is the biggest bunch of bullsh!t I have seen in sports...maybe in my entire lifetime; and, I've been thinking about just how right those of us have been, whenever we've talked about their hate for us. Personally, I believe it started back in the 90's with UT vs UF, Manning getting robbed...definitely whenever Fulmer was outed as the whistle-blower against Bama. I've said before that I didn't know if it was necessarily a conspiracy against us...but, I have always believed in bad blood; and, that bad blood got to boiling completely over again whenever we said NO to Greg Schiano. They DO NOT LIKE US...they have told us so time and time again. "Toxic"..."Classless"..."Trailer Park"...now, "Repeat Offenders".

Anyway...I am so glad we have the people we now have to fight for our beloved school, our beloved Vols.

Go Big Damn 🍊🍊🍊!!!
Steam, damnit...More and more STEAM!!!

I don't think political leanings matter. There was unanimous alignment in the Supreme Court against the NCAA in the Alston case. Point being...the NCAA's rules on NIL run counter to the law from just about every angle you look at it. On top if that, Spyre wrote contracts and conducted business in a way that leaves nothing for the NCAA. They're literally trying to stick their head in a guillotine.
