Also I know me personally I'm fairly objective in my thoughts of performance.

Joe Milton hasn't/isn't playing as well as Hendon Hooker. Objectively I can validate that statement with stats and numbers.

But when someone says he's playing "horrible" that's just a subjective opinion. I don't share it, and I can't really dispute it either because the person saying it has their own opinion of what "horrible" is.

The OL played bad, and objectively there are numbers to support that. The defense (in the first half specifically) was bad, again numbers support those.

The only player at this point in the season that I feel makes the OL better immediately is Mays returning, he is heavily involved with making sure the correct protections are called, that's not something that's on Joe it's the center's job in this system. On defense I can't really point to a single player having the same sort of immediate impact...I think collectively Banks is playing younger talent and will continue to do so and they'll improve from the experience as a unit.

I mean Elijah Simmons hasn't played a snap yet, so he could possibly make an immediate impact on the DL when he returns.

Any word on Elijah Simmons injury? I don’t remember seeing any mention of it other than he is out…

The brouhaha about the remarks by Halzle were an (unfortunately) successful hit job by the anti-Vol KNS. They asked him whether there were ways starting Nico would have been better, in order to fuel criticism of Joe and manufacture "controversy" or discontent. Then when he answered "No" to them, they omitted that part of his answer. Then misrepresented the remainder as if it were Halzle's spontaneous thoughts on the game. So they got their hit piece in, either way.

Naturally they didn't report on the highly questionable officiating, which they could do, while the coaches were prohibited from it.

And of course, too many of our fans are eager to run with that kind of stuff.

I really do wonder how different our (my own included) perception would be of this team if the refs had not played such a huge role in our struggles the past two weeks?

Why is this happening?

Look at the hometowns of SEC officials.

6 wins at SCAR gets an extension and a raise.
Would you rather be in a category with SCAR or with UF and AM they are not the same.

The optics are not the same.
TXAM has had several top 5 recruiting classes, and they will be ranked. It's a much bigger win. SCAR is someone TN is supposed to be a win before the season even starts.

The fact that they don't represent the city, area, and state by documenting the bad, one-sided officiating that swung the second half, and call on the SEC office for an explanation tells you all you need to know. It would put a major hurdle we face on the radar.

We really need a rival paper to that antagonistic office of the national chain that is KNS. Or a local takeover. We have the only antagonistic local media in the SEC, as far as I know. Maybe in all of college football.

We have journalism and communications schools, for crying out loud.

No, the whole point has been they're an inferior program and should be treated as such. Beating them is no better than beating Vandy or UK.

We 100% better focus on Oline next recruiting class. Our line is horrible. We don’t have a top 5 Oline in the SEC. Cant win championships this way.

We have four 4 star OL committed. We will take 3-5 OL in the portal
