Recruiting Football Talk VII

We do use NIL in both BB programs. CRB just puts a high value on other things and wants to avoid players who are all about the money. People have different feelings about this, but it's how he builds his teams. Knecht was a gift. CRB told him he wasn't going to make it about NIL like other programs and Knecht chose that path. That's the kind of player CRB looks for. It's really a shame we couldn't have had DK for two years... and equally a shame that Santi just didn't have enough left this year.
We need to suddenly discover DK has a long-lost identical twin brother named Walton. We'll do the Superman disguise. Just put some glasses on Dalton and suddenly he's Walton, with another year to play.

Baseball fans -

With the Astros no-hitter tonight, that makes (17) all time for the Houston franchise.

Without looking - How many of those did Nolan Ryan have?

Because people like Bama are passing us up and we can recruit better. Yes im aware we swept them but everyone around us is making final 4s. Auburn, Bama, UK all recruit bette than us.
Bama got a more favorable draw in the tourney. Seeding means less than your actual draw. I honestly believe we could have made the F4 in Bama's bracket. In the tourney, luck of the draw is just as important as how good you are. We were unlucky enough to draw a team with a freaking Lurch that doesn't get fouls called on him or doesn't have to follow the basic rules of basketball. Bama hasn't "passed us up" by making a F4. They got a good draw, but we proved we were the better team on the court, twice.

Pretty sure "swing big" isn't going to mean the same thing to everybody. Equally sure a vocal section of the fanbase is going to be unhappy with the hire. Inevitable when people are divided on how they think the LV program should be run and by whom.
I hope DW takes the biggest of big swings possible.

And absolutely F those fans who insist on being tethered to the past, and obviously don’t give a damn how it negatively impacts the present. They can go if they don’t like it.

Worse than that, that was to be our 1 seed bracket. I still think we deserved that spot. Of course UNC and Bama were on the selection committee and didn't see it that way. Bama could be moved there together with UNC on the condition that we weren't the 1 seed there (which otherwise would have been excluded based on previous conference games.) I'm very, very, very sure, don't you know, surely, you know, positive that it was 100% above board: two schools with complete NCAA license to cheat wouldn't mean any harm. But the selection committee has to consider the appearance of impropriety.

What did he say about Rick Barnes?
There are some video clip tweets of the mindless ogre here somewhere last night and this morning. He was saying F this and F that, we da bosses, or something along those refined lines. Everyone disrespects him, you see. That's how he came to be pre-anointed as POY before the season ever started, you see. Real brain dead stuff.

And then he tacked on that this is what Barnes gets for not recruiting him. He made it completely about himself and completely personal with Barnes. As if any normal coach and team could play a big, slow perpetual foul-machine dimwitted bruh like Edey and he would not draw five fouls and three lane violations before halftime anywhere else. Edey would be a national joke.

If they had an all-tournament team for tackiness and stupid self-indulgent, self-revealing remarks, Edey would be a shoe-in.

Then Edey brushed against a ladder while cutting down the net down, and the refs ran over and called a foul on the ladder.

I just don't think its a coincedence that the Harper firing was announced today. They've had a lot of time to announce that, and it seems like the media guys knee this was coming for a few days.

Texas and Oregon State lost yesterday. Those are two eligible coaches imo. The only eligible coach that could lose today is USC's. Outside of that, Virginia Tech, Louisville, and NC State are the only potential calls. But I think the timing narrows it down. I could be hugely wrong.
Not a coincidence. Her contract dropped her buyout today, that's why it happened today.

Are you insane? The last 2 hires have been total wastes of money and for what? Plus they insist it be a woman from Pat's tree and they got it....twice. Why do we have to drain the coffers to overpay yet again for something that's a become such a drain? Does it even break even annually financially? How much revenue does it lose per year? Nah. Now that the NIL era is entrenched, we've got more important bills to pay. No reason to go nuts with this hire.
Holly earned her shot. She was Pat's right hand for many, many years. It's unfortunate it didn't work out, and I'm still sad it didn't, but she deserved her shot to run the program. The problem with the last search was the dictate it had to be someone with ties to the program. KJH was not the best option, but she got the job simply because of her ties. We can't keep the program inbred. We need to add some new genes to the gene pool.

Well, I don't think he's married. Plus I'm pretty sure he's straight and straight women find him attractive or so I hear. He's extremely successful and has taken a program from the doldrums to being elite consistently in a very short period of time I might add. On top of that the vast majority of the Vol fan base is absolutely thrilled with UT baseball and it's pushed the LV basketball even further into the background to the point that it's simply no longer relevant to the majority of the fan base. It's a small clique of fans who are uber vocal and live for it, but it's simply not mainstream. Personally, I don't find it the least bit entertaining. It's nothing more than a financial drain and waste of valuable resources IMO. So I guess in closing, all those things collide to make him the target of "LadyVol nation".
All I got from this is lesbians hate him because they see him as competition.

@MoCo_Vol @LAVol1 im behind on the KH firing..was this in the works for a while? Because we were all under the impression it wasn’t going to happen this year…I know her record isn’t the best but what was the reasoning for the sudden change👀
Hey, I realize this is going to sound crazy. But how about instead of just popping in and posting random sh-t without any context, you read the thread and find out what they said. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯ 😂

Stop it. This is the thought process that got us holly and Kellie.

I’d hire her as an assistant if she cut her teeth somewhere else.
Holly and Kellie do not have the “star power” that Candace Parker has. Unless you grew up a Lady Vol fan you probably have no idea who Holly Warlick and Kellie Harper (Jolly) are. Candace was a superstar in college and has been a superstar in the WNBA. Young women who love basketball know very well who she is. If you don’t think top recruits wouldn’t flock here to play for her you’re crazy. I think if you put a good staff around her she’d do well. I’m not saying hire her tomorrow but I do think at some point down the road, if she decides to get into coaching, she could do great things here.
