Dobbs was a rail too when we threw him to the wolves second half against Bama.Random thought of the day... Is anyone else tired of the "Nico needs to put on more muscle and weight before we throw him out there behind this suspect O-line" talk? It's one thing to debate the merit of playing him due to his inexperience or lack of knowledge of the playbook, but since when did being skinny mean we can't put you out there?
I remember quite vividly when we put in Tyler Bray for the first time with an also suspect O-line. He was possibly even skinnier than Nico and he held up just fine if i recall. Another thing i remember about him vs Simms who was the current starter was that Bray got the ball out of his hands so much faster than Simms that our sacks taken numbers decreased drastically. Joe holds the ball we all know this. Is it not possible Nico could be a Bray like quarterback who gets the ball out quicker and has better presence in the pocket? Just something i was thinking about this morning.
disclaimer this is not me saying Nico should start vs Scar more so just tired of people making the stupid excuse you can't play skinny quarterbacks in the SEC.
Sounds staged for publicity. Still chasing clicks.
And more proof it isn’t about football for Deion. Mid season and his team just got wrecked and he’s concerned with trademarking phrases - some of which have been around for a long time.
I think Hyatt is a great WR. But I also think we're not calling plays like we did last year. Might be the new OC, though I thought Heupel was supposedly calling the plays, or maybe they are aware of the deficiencies of our OL and that is forcing them to call it different. I don't really know the reason, but it's different. So I think Hyatt was a far better WR than people realized/gave credit for, even on the deep shots we've taken I've not seen any of our WRs really beat their guy like Hyatt was constantly doing last season.
Spread still at Tennessee -12.5 one hour ago.....
My thoughts exactly. Except I keep waffling ignore list.I’m always optimistic, but don’t lose my sh!t when a loss occurs (not saying you do).
I prefer to view Tennessee sports with as much optimism as I can.
All the real life crap is fraught with realism, pessimism and worry. I use Tennessee sports as my escape. Probably why I have many on my ignore list, not because of their “realism “ , but because they can’t wait to dump negative thoughts regardless of the situation. Don’t have time for that crap.
14-1

I think the coaches made a plan with him and his family for his time here and they are bent on sticking to it.Random thought of the day... I think you are on to something here. It's never as simple as just one thing when it comes to something like play calling.
OL, Milton's lack of running, No clear "I'm going by you" deep threat like Hyatt, and a lack of accuracy when Milton does go deep
Milton has great arm talent, but his timing has never been great. And of all the things a QB can really do to separate themselves timing is king imo. It's why most the top NFL guys were able to play as long as they did (Brady, Peyton, Brees, etc.) they had timing, so even if they couldn't launch the ball 50+ in the air anymore it didn't matter.
Milton seems to always be late on lead the WR routes (crosses, slants, etc.) and that's the most timing driven route. Hendo hit those so much better and we'd see Hyatt snag in stride and his speed let him take a 7 yard slant to the endzone because of it.
I think biggest thing is trust. If he could just trust the play developing and then use his arm talent, we’d see a #1 pick. It’s almost like he’s scared to make a mistake I thinkI think you are on to something here.
Milton takes longer to see the play or window develop and relies on his arm strength to still make the throw late.
He does not have great anticipation - he needs to see it before he pulls the trigger. And for the most part his arm strength makes up for the timing differnce.
But if he could speed up his read and trust the read to have better timing he would be elite.
Still have guys running wide open every game. Joe just doesn’t see them or can’t hit them.I think Hyatt is a great WR. But I also think we're not calling plays like we did last year. It's kind of odd...as a fan from the outside I feel like he's a bad fit for our offense. Not a great runner, not great anticipation/timing, and slow to processI think you are on to something here.
