LeBron has traits of Shaq. Shaq was a tremendous player, but he has said in his own words he was not singularly driven like Kobe. It took guys and good coaches to push Shaq. People don't describe Shaq as the goat, but for a time he was the most physically dominant player.

LeBron doesn't have people who can push him like that because he has a gravitational pull like no other. He also seems to want to control things, but dislikes blame. He is still great physically and unmatched longevity wise, but he's not the guy I build a playoff team around.
17 playoff appearances and 4 championships in 21 seasons is a pretty solid resume. Very few players stack up there and almost none were playing at anywhere near as high a level.

Tim Duncan? MJ? …

I’m sure there are some others, but I’m not coming up with them.

Shaq got quickly lazy and complacent off the court and in training. Won’t foist that on Lebron. He’s relentless and tireless in his work ethic. Just misses that connection to true greatness at that top 5 level imo.

I said he had traits like. I was not drawing a direct comparison. I think LeBron covers a lot of traits of top players. Other than his longevity though I would not call him the best at any of these. IMO he's not best playoff guy, doesn’t have the best work ethic , isn't the best scorer, or the most physically dominant. He is probably the best Jack of all trades maybe...

I meant what was the "play for clicks" statement

Talking about Deion and why he left in the portal essentially …talking about how he wants to play for a team that isn’t playing for clicks or “clout” …like Deion did all last year …kid isn’t lying and I feel like he was treated harshly by prime..

I have an army buddy that is a huge Arky fan. He texted me, "Thanks for your contribution to the Arkansas basketball team." I basically told him this. Good player that disappears when things get tough. Well, now he can disappear for another team.
Aidoo is a perfect fit for Aidoo since they both disappear in tournaments

Damn good series.

If just talking LBJ, the dude is almost 40. MJ never saw a winning record at this age.

Jokic the best there is right now.
LeBron wouldn't have been able to make it to forty in previous incarnations of the NBA. Just like Tom Brady would have never made it to forty if he played in a earlier era NFL. Both played in a era where they were wrapped in bubble rap and marked "Fragile, handle with care."

I'm 56 and I've followed American sports my whole life. I've never seen a great player so universally reviled as Lebron James. I really can't make sense of it. I know he has a big ego and made media missteps through the years. But come on -- Nobody has a bigger ego than Michael Jordan. Great players and leaders are wired like that.

He's a family oriented man who gives back to his community. He raised two sons with the same woman -- go read about the sexual exploits of 80's and 90's NBA stars.

Disclaimer: I'm a numbers-oriented person who thrives on player stats. I have many NBA/NFL/MLB records memorized. Statistically, Lebron just doesn't have an equal. His ranking in several categories is historic and may outlive us all. There's no reason to argue that point.

I need somebody to explain the hatred for this guy. What is it about Lebron that gets SO many people riled up?
He gets special treatment, think Alabama, Zach Edey, or Tom Brady. If it's not your team you hate the people who get special treatment and advantages.
LeBron is handled with kid gloves. You can't breathe on him, dribbling while moving with basketball is optional, he regularly cusses officials and doesn't get techs, constantly gets a pass when he says outrageous things, and oh boy you will catch hell if you call a foul on him.
