@InVOLuntary is a Subaru man . . .Nope, it's a Chevy.
I do it because I have multiple pans that get hung up/put away for weeks at a time. If I know I'll use one repeatedly I don't thoroughly clean. Only when I am putting one away will I wash then do a quick reseason of the cooking surface on eye.I hadn’t thought about that but lye breaks down everything so it makes sense that it ruins cast iron skillets. Still I don’t like anything but a very cursory wash on cast iron. If it’s really dirty use salt scrub off stuck on bits. Super Cleaning a pan that depends on fats and oils and that’s going to be heated enough to fry or bake is a bit silly.
Subaru engines - is/was made by Toyota. Owned one before and had all kinds of issues. Head gasket, wheel bearing, more head gasket, rust around exhaust, drive shaft.@InVOLuntary is a Subaru man . . .
I actually like some of the Subarus.
Are you a Ford man? The F100 Supernationals is coming up on the Oklahoma game weekend. Those older Fords look better than any other truck, imo. I'd like to get ahold of a '78 ford 4x4 or a '93 F150 xlt 4x4.
