The areas impacted by this flooding, are generally not well to do. Therefore, loss od property as well as the places work is going to impact them for years.

Samaritan’s Purse Starts Five-Site Response to Hurricane Helene

The storm left a path of devastation across the Southeast, from the coast of Florida to the mountains of North Carolina.

We gave because it truly is a disaster. Samaritans Purse is based in Boone. They are offering a local response to both areas.

Not a guilt trip. Give what you can, if you feel compelled. Just know, what is being reported is true, and probably worse.

There are towns in NC that no longer exist:

Ive read about everywhere else. Wondered about Spruce Pine, Buladean, Burnsville. Cut off from everything. Has to be dire.

Be really careful giving to people directly that you don’t personally know or to anything you see through social media.

I’d like to find one that isn’t church affiliated and will support east tn and/or west nc, as they don’t live in an area where this is a normal environmental hazard. If you come across one please tag me in a comment with the link. Samaritans Purse may be my backup option.

Personally my love for football would gear me towards that but logic would say skip the CTE and go with one of the others

If I suck, I can always get sent down and still play. Football and basketball, you’re just cut.

Has to do with if any of my donation goes to overhead as opposed to victims directly. I am Jewish so I’d rather that money, however small, go to a religious agnostic organization.
