Recruiting Football Talk VIII

That throw Nico made to DT was incredible also
On to Florida

We control our own destiny

Last night can either be good or bad
It’s on the players now

The whole OL unit as a group period. Portal guys or not. Elarbee sucks. But friends are gonna friend. It’s the good ole boy world we live in.

Didn’t know if you had a specific guy or 2 you really meant. Haven’t gone back to watch for it but curious how the interior of the line held up, if problems were on the outside, did the backs miss some in pass pro, was Nico holding the ball too long, was it a scheme thing, etc

Feel like there are good players on the OL. Heard needs to develop more. Campbell isn’t healthy and won’t be all season. Coop has always been solid. Haven’t paid much attention to Karic and Spraggins.

VQ mini pod is a good listen
AP had his best speech ever on it
Reminds you of what’s up and that we can still have a helluva year
Helluva year in my eyes after what we’ve shown so far is to beat both Bama and UGA and see Arky as a blip.

That won’t happen though so my hopes aren’t gonna get dashed.

As frustrated as I still am. And as badly as we played. Its time to move on.

That doesnt mean that jury isnt out on Pope, Ellarbee, and Martinez. That was one of the most ill prepped, lackadaisical rose smelling performances ive seen. Comes down to coaching. Got beat by a team that couldnt punch their ways out of a wet paper bag.

Normally someone could reason me out of my hot take. I believe Sam Pittman is not a good HC, and Arkansas is below average.

Before wrapping a bow on my rants. Halzle is not an OC. Play calling sucks. It is bad.

Moving on, Nico flashes. Those putting unrealistic expectations in him need to realize he's played less than 6 games. This was 100% on OL execution, WR separation, Run Blocking and most of all. Piss poor Play Calling.

I was more referencing twitter tbh. I know how this place rolls. Take the worst of the most negative posters on here and that seems to be nearly all of “Vol twitter”
Vol Twitter in general needs to shut up and I’ve felt that way for a while before this loss. It’s embarrassing.

Seems like most of the problems were on the interior. The pressure didn't seem to come from the edge that much. Which is why it was infuriating we pretty much didn't run outside at all.

Something is wrong. Even in year 1&2 with “lower rated” players we had guys running free against whoever all the time. Our receivers either arent that good or our scheme has gotten worse. I haven’t seen one creative play call this year. Not sure why. We have torched teams on screens to the RB and haven’t seen one all year. Someone explain this to me? Why does it feel like our playcalling is worse? I don’t want to hear the coaches don’t trust Nico because they’re about to have no excuse. They’re signed or committed multiple 5 star QBs and high 4 star QBs.

I doubt Halzle is calling the plays exclusively. Heupel is the primary. If you don't like the play calling (and I don't), that's on Heupel.
