If my performance isn’t up to standards, absolutely I will get criticism. Like I said, in a previous era, I get it’s part of the learning process and he is learning. In this era, results are the expectation.Paying a college QB doesn’t make him invulnerable to the missteps that have plagued college QBs for 100 years. When you get a raise, does your performance improve the following day?
The fact that we only ran 2 plays between 1:06 and 20 seconds last night is insane. Some of the worst clock management you’ll ever
Only from the people paying his NIL, which is not us. If he were the only qb in the country on an NIL, yes, you could have higher than previous expectations for him. But now that NIL is tables takes for starting qb, you can't just change your expectations for RS freshman qb because they're all getting paid. That doesn't make them all of a sudden able to avoid young qb struggles. If my performance isn’t up to standards, absolutely I will get criticism. The only two I really remember where the team looked completely unprepared and we had zero game plan on the last few seasons were @ TAMU last season and the 2021 Oregon state debacle. But that’s twice out of around a hundred games. We’re seeing it once every 10 games in football, minimum. To me, there is a difference between guys just missing shots (which happens a lot, yes) and the game plan being poor and the team looking unprepared. I can’t say there has ever been a game under Barnes where the team just looked unprepared and that there was no game plan. There was no game plan last night. None. Heupel had no idea what he was trying to do.
So because they get paid now you want results as soon as the young men hit the playing field. If my performance isn’t up to standards, absolutely I will get criticism. It's chaos yes but he shouldn't have done that. These guys have got to understand how much stronger they are than the average person and that venting their frustration can lead to very, very, bad things. It's not as bad as hitting someone but when you're that large and that strong you can easily cause harm to an average person without meaning to.
That's false. When fans are donating to fill the NIL coffers, we are paying his NILOnly from the people paying his NIL, which is not us.
