Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Hell man at this point Kirk Gibson is next😭🤣
The HR by Gibson in WS was epic but Gibson to me was a Detriot Tiger not a true blue Dodger. Fernando was a Dodger even though he played for multiple teams.

Was Spanish announcer for the Dodgers, you know Gibson is color commentator on Tigers games don't you?

Last time I seen Gibson he was the manager of the D backs after that I assumed he went on to be a position coach somewhere but never knew where exactly…that’s wild he’s doing that now but fitting

Did a bit of digging into snap counts this morning and wanted to point out just how impactful the 2023 class has been to our roster.

2023 Top 20 Players (By On3 Industry Comp):

Just one year post recruiting-year: 65% of the top 20 are in the rotation, and 85% are getting playing time. Of those in the buried section, Robinson / Weathersbee both obviously have futures here but have dealt with injuries and being behind the deepest DL in the country. These numbers are freaking ridiculous and are a massive testament to Heupel and Co's ability to scout and develop.

For reference - remember the ridiculous 2014 Butch class? 45% of the top 20 were in the rotation, and only 55% were getting playing time in 2015 (and this was with several extra games and a bowl game the 2024 squad hasn't yet had).

The fact that the 2024 team is as good as it is with that many more RS-FR / SO in the rotation only makes the numbers above more impressive.

Bonus material - the 2023 transfer class:

Omarr Norman-Lott
John Campbell
Keenan Pili
Donte Thornton
Gabriel Jeudy-Lally
McCallan Castles
Andrej Karic
Charles Campbell

Every single one of those guys has been a factor. Not all big-time impact guys, but not one wasted spot.

TLDR: Heup can 'croot.

He is just like his buddy Forde. Pat let him know when you are becoming irrelevant, just stir up Tennessee fans and you can show your boss all the clicks. I refuse to look at anything either of them create.
I wish VN and Vol Twitter understood this. It's like when someone wants free money from a lawsuit, so they try to insult you until you take a swing. YOU'RE GIVING THEM EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT!

Wait, where did Okoye go? What did I miss?

Okoye is still on the team, but he is injured (torn ACL).

I'm embarrassed to say I don't know who 'Vysen Lang' is.

I went and looked at his stats, he definitely deserved a bump because he’s thrown 2600 yards, 30 TDs in 6 games, but 300+ spots?

Don’t really think that’s warranted since most QBs put up those stats..
It's more the principle. He may well deserve to be a 5*. Maybe he's a 5* level talent that had not been evaluated. Thus he may well have been a 5* diamond in the rough. That's a jagged pill for the "there are no diamonds in the rough, rankings make the players" folks.

Else they knew full well who and what he is and didn't think he's all that good, and they just lie-bump to boost some schools' rankings. That'd also be a problem for the "rankings make the players" folks.

Eh, I think Saban can be Saban. Expecting someone else to be Saban could be a recipe for disaster. They didn't hire DeBoer b/c he is Saban. They hired him because of what he's done as him.
It was stupid to take that job...he will destroy his legacy there.

I get these guys are wired different...but following one of the goats is just absolutely asinine.

What a dumbass attention whore. I bet he went ballistic when everyone at espn lit up cigars on air and paraded around with them when Bama won one year.

I've never even heard of this loser. He big mad. :D 😂 😭 And making a fool of himself.

Seems like he should be off covering the new rape scandal at Penn State -- and dragging in Schiano's role in the Penn State sex scandal as background.
I kind of have to ask. I'm sorry in advance.

He's an attention whore. Why do we come on here and give him what he wants? Y'all know why he does it? Because he knows most Vol fans just can't help themselves.

So who are the dumbass(es)?
