Recruiting Football Talk VIII

If GA and FL want to play home and away, I would say these two videos of three different cops beating and/or tasing three different fans without apparent necessity would be the time to make their move. Doubt it will happen.

One news story said a witness to the tasing incident began when a cop accused a fan of having an illegal ticket. (There were empty seats all around the fan in nose bleed territory in the video, whether they had all fled the violence, I don't know.) The alleged witness said the fan responded by saying that he paid for the ticket and he wasn't moving, and the police officer — instead of asking him to show his ticket — whipped out his taser and lit him up twice before the beating commenced.
I'd like to see the evidence of that...sounds fishy, but possible. If that is truly what happened then they need to lose their jobs....but I find it hard to believe.

That’s one loss. But we weren’t comparing us to USC.

Bama beat a 8-4 Texas, 8-4 Ole Miss, and 8-4 Mississippi State. Lost to us and LSU.

We beat a 8-4 Pitt, 9-4 LSU (who beat Bama and went to the SECG), 7-5 UK. We beat 6 bowl teams. We not only beat Bama but beat the other team who beat Bama by 27. Yet our loss to USC hurt us?

So, if it’s comparable, they throw out head to head? Nonsense. They pick and choose.
And we beat that LSU team on the ROAD by 27. Bama lost on the road by 1. The committee ranking them ahead of us was unbelievable.

Who beat Bama by 27?
That argument stinks. I didn’t realize losing by 20+ puts more losses in that column. Who beat LSU by 27 and then LSU beat Bama? I guess we should have gotten 2 wins for that one.

Your whole resume counts- not one game. That’s just a terrible way to look at it. Like I said, they pick and choose what they want. Ignore our LSU blowout and use USC against us.

This is what is stealing sleep from me. Why have the Vols moved from a fast paced hurry up offense to one where the entire offensive team stares at the sideline 'til the play clock is at 15 seconds or so and then gets set for the play?
I think it is just, we aren’t that team this year… can we morph as needed? As of the performance of Nico last night and the 2nd half of bama? Yes. We just need the receivers to play like that have been minus yesterday and we look like a dominant offense. We are a REALLY good team just gotta put it all together. First time I have seen Nico look like the best QB in his class. He was fantastic last night.

Just watched a podcast that gave a break down on LSU-A&M-Texas-UGA-Bama-UT
and what each team needs to happen.
😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 we need Bama to win Saturday 🤢🤮 it makes our game aganist UGA winner take all, basically.
That’s assuming we win out.
Does the playoff field get set before the conference championship games? I couldn't imagine another top 5 opponent when Miami will play a top 20 opponent?

You can't seriously say getting absolutely blown out by a bad team is an equal loss to barely losing to a good team. This isn't the nfl, style points and quality of loss/win has always mattered, even in the bcs days. The USC loss was far far far worse than any loss Bama had.

It's not unreasonable to say it offsets the quality of the lsu win.

In your own words, we got 2 wins for lsu and 2 losses for usc, so that brought us to even. So now you look at who's still got their starting QB, which the committee has said matters to them, and that's why we ended up lower. 0% chance we rank below Bama in 22 if Hooker wasn't injured.

The committee's final ranking is to get the best current rosters into what they feel is the proper ranking, not the best resume and record. The resume and record is only one of many inputs.

You're obsessed with this "who had the better resume" line of thinking when the committee has made it abundantly clear they don't care when it comes to starting QB being injured. They'd have done the same to Bama if Bryce Young got injured instead of Hooker.

Keep in mind, what hurt FSU last year was not only losing Travis but they played a game (or 2) with their backup true freshman QB and looked awful on offense. That gave the committee an out. I still think FSU should have been in the playoffs. Undefeated P5 conference champion being left out was a bad precedent.

The ass whooping UGA gave them appeared to prove the committee right even though no talks about all the players that opted out of the game from FSU.

They rank the best current teams, not the best resumes. I don't agree it should be that way, but that's what they've made abundantly clear.

Something tells me if it was Bama who lost their QB and a true freshman QB is next in like and is horrible they find a way in the playoffs. The committee has also shown their bias in the rankings. That's clear as well.

So basically we hope that Texas vs Texas A&M winner also wins out and LSU wins out and then we would win out and we are no worse then a 6 seed

I disagree. Especially if that freshman qb had shown he was incompetent like the fsu qb.

Dude...you just saw one small part of the thing...you have no freaking idea if they deserved it or not.

Maybe they did and maybe they didn't...but unless we see the whole incident none of us will ever know.
Cmon man we’ve been over this. Your son in law is a great person and a police officer.

This dude is tasing and beating an unarmed inebriated civilian with his metal handcuffs, sitting on top of and repeatedly throwing haymakers to the face. They’re not just trying to make them comply, and they’re lucky they didn’t kill one of these fans.
