I would have disagreed up until last night when I saw the video of Nico walking out with his family. That didn’t look good, to me. Hopefully he’s just a bit shook and has a very mild concussion. But that video was sus.

SEC Nation has Alabama ahead of Tennessee in their Power Rankings lol. WE BEAT THEM. Next week is a must win. Sucks, but it is. We won’t be in the playoff otherwise.

The loss to Arkie--and the bottom falling out of our SoS--hurt us.

I don't think we're out of the playoffs with a potential loss to UGA next week, but Arkie game looks more hurtful every week that ESPN has to create Bama narrative.

The good news is that we are 8-1 with our destiny in our own hands. Just win.

Notre Dame - 18

After one of the worst losses in school history to Rutgers, the Vols hosted #13 Notre Dame, who made their first visit to Knoxville. Jimmy Streater showed the 86,497 fans (school record at the time) a combination of fluent running and passing during the first half that allowed UT to score 30 pts. Jeff Olszewski lead the team in the second half after Streater’ knee injury, but the star of the day was Hubert Simpson. When Simpson signed with the Vols, he said, “I heard Tennessee doesn’t have a fullback. They do now.” The bruising fullback had 117 yrds and 4 TDs in the 40-18 Vols victory.

I don't think we're out of the playoffs with a potential loss to UGA next week, but Arkie game looks more hurtful every week that ESPN has to create Bama narrative.

Amazing amount of hand wringing after a win. So glad the coaches and players don't have the defeatist mindset some of y'all have. Can't control the committee or past performance . Beat UGA and none of this crap matters. Watching UGA I saw them quit in 4th quarter. Saw receivers griping about Beck or play calling. Just win.

Sure can you explain the correlation with SEC nation ranking to a CFB ranking?

12 playoff spots. I think it's entirely possible we see 4 SEC schools, 4 Big 10 schools, 1 Big 12 school, 1 ACC school, 1 G5 school, and Notre Dame make the playoffs. We just need to find a way to beat Georgia and Vandy and we should be in. At 2 losses, we're not out, but it becomes much easier for the selection committee to leave us out.

My thoughts as well. We beat an SEC opponent by 19 points, having lost our #2 RB, our #1 RB for a time, and our QB1 for the entire second half. Our defense held MSU to 14 points and we're here airing our grievances against a defense that hasn't allowed ANY team to score 20 points yet this year.

Sometimes, portions of our fan base deserve the flack we get.

I’m normally positive but I had my gripes about Banks yesterday. That QB from MSST was never beating us with his arm. Running cheetah fronts and vacating LBers was killing me. Sat there with my son saying every time we go small up front Lebby checks to middle run. The strength of state was their guards and center. Banks deserved all the credit for Oklahoma, Bama, and NCST. Our defense was not great against misdirection teams like Arkansas, Florida and run fits with MSST. Kentucky was neutral.

I’ll stay in the middle crowd where I’m looking at all sides, not just UTs. That way I’m not picking up torches if get left out. I’ll leave arguing and complaining to the “UT is perfect” crowd

I did say that “I’m done with the Butch Jones experiment as I walked out of the Arkansas game in 2015.”

But it’s entertainment to me, and I’m not going to be a legion of miserable. It would make me miserable in every day life. I refuse to do that. But you don’t have to be a sunshine pumper to realize that a human committee has whichever way they want to spin the narrative. 2 years in a row it has been that way.
