Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Worrisome thought...Pavia is gonna run wild on us if our front 7 doesn't wrap him up better than they did Van Buren tonight....and that stupid inside run was completely pissing me off...wtf was that about?

I know we didn't give up many points and the defense wasn't awful...but that's the first time I thought the defense looked a little blase all year.

We miss Pili.
On their second TD, Carter walked out of the hole. It looked like he shadowed the man in motion. After the TD you can see him talking to one of the DBs. Someone blew the coverage.
I don’t know who messed up but the RB literally walked in.

So no retort cool just going off of vibes from sportscenter lol
Asked and answered. You need anything else, or do you want to just camp on a refusal to read my post(s) for what it said?

I've said for two weeks that the Arkie loss and our current SoS puts a 2-loss UT in a much more precarious playoff position that what we envisioned at the first of the season--i.e. losses to a really good Bama and a really good UGA with good looking wins over teams like NCSt, Oklahoma, Arkie, etc... So, we'd better win out for a surety to the playoffs.

I'm not sure how ANYONE here can deny those facts.

But there seems to be enough posters here whose need to be right overpowers their willingness/ability to read other posters' post with nuance. So you get the ridiculous monotony of debates like this one.

If a normally positive poster discussing the real possibilities of negative outcomes bothers you enough to pick stupid fights, then put me on ignore and save everyone the monotony.

That retort cool enough for you?

Putting everyone who doesn't agree with you on ignore is, um, interesting.
Yeah because it’s so enticing talking to sunshine and rainbows.

This has happened in previous years.
Fan: “Let’s talk about how poorly UT did this weekend and what they need to work on”

Sunshine and Rainbows fan: “What are you talking about so and so played amazing, the defense played amazing, we won”

Final score: 30-28

No one wants to talk to someone like that.

I don’t like the media but you guys are right in pointing out their bias for certain teams and it could definitely play out how you say, we still however control our destiny
I just have to ask... That's a mini-version of my post that you thought you needed to attack. WTH, man? Are you OK?

So do it for OM and Bama, too. I’m not denying losing to Arkansas hurts, but I’ve always said 10-2 should get us in. Not changing that position.

I get the frustration. There are plenty of posters at both extremes. I think there is still value in debating.

It’s not an attack more of an attack on playing the “what if game” is kinda a fallacy, every team in the SEC vying for a playoff spot has to win out not just us…

SEC Nation can suck a fat 🍆 they aren’t the committee
Same for ESPN's reporter who writes as if she is on the committee and knows what they think.

If she doesn't have this leaked information every week, she needs to be fired. If she does have it, several committee members do.

Yup.

Would’ve been MUCH closer if Shapen was playing
First this is a dumb argument but it also ignores our QB being out for the 2nd half. Making these statements have zero base and I’m not even sure how to discuss it or debate alternate realities. In my alternate reality, we don’t lose to Ark but it has about as much validity as this statement.

SHOULD, WOULD, COULD and WILL leaves a lot of room for respectfuldiscussion without ***hole initial responses to my posts.

I have not once said that we WILL miss the playoffs, or that Bama WILL get in ahead of us. All I've done is given logical reasons why (that same thing y'all seem to agree is possible) is possible.

Yet here we are, with me defending a premise that y'all agree with against ***hole, sarcastic condescension.

Yay VN.

I'll reiterate.

We're in a more precarious position with 2 losses than we thought a probable two losses would look like before the season started. Thus, we need to win out to make it a surety. Thankfully we still have our own destiny in our hands, so let;s do it.

Anyone that still wants to play ****-measuring after the 50th time I've explained that point can kick rocks. They've lost my good will and willingness to waste any more time on them.

The media up north have always been bias to their teams so any sort of suggestion that 4 SEC teams will make it in must really get under their skin. The Indiana vs Ohio state game could be considered an elimination game…
