Recruiting Football Talk VIII

If the top 4 SEC teams have 2 losses (including the conference ship winner and loser), 4 SEC teams will get in imo. One of the announcers said if the big ten has 4 teams, you’d have to give the SEC 5 teams 😂.

Honest opinion, I wouldn’t be surprised if both got 4 teams in. Oregon is probably the only one of them that can lose and would still be guaranteed a spot.

If the CFP is worth anything, our victory over Bama should cause us to rise more and jump Miami, Penn ST, and honestly possibly Texas because it’s the best win out there between those teams against their schedules.
I don't care where we are until after UGA. It's moot until then.

Miss St figured something out with motion at the snap in their run game. Our LB’s did a bad job with their fits when they did that, it will be fixed. They had less than 100 yards passing and less than 300 yards of offense. Defense overall did their job.
They caught us in sets where our LB had to cover the flat in certain situations. MSU identified it, ran plays that forced our MLB to cover the flat and left open the middle, then gashed us.

I do like how Seldon looked. I wish he had gotten more reps earlier in the year. You can see some things he would've already learned if he had more in-game experience. I'm glad he is getting reps now though, should pay off big for next season.
Maybe even this year. We have as many as 7 games to go, in the best case.

This tells me Vegas thinks Heupel is lying and Nico isn’t playing, because otherwise there is really no reason for Georgia to be -10.5 against us after watching them score 10 total points against Ole Miss.

This seems like wayyyyy too much. With our defense ppg that would mean they think Georgia wins 17-7.

Really don't like that Ole Miss put UGA backs against the wall right before they play UT. With that being said, this defensive will be the best defense UGA has faced. If you can just score 21 then UT can win.
I don't think it will have any positive effect for UGA. They'll likely be playing stressed out and will try to force stuff.

They were always going to be super pumped for this game. Only difference now is their anxiety is through the roof. My bet is that it forces them to make more of the mistakes they already make.

If we just play like we're capable of, UGA will hang themselves under the pressure.

Also. . . we may need you to drink a double shot of the good stuff, just for good measure. . .

We're also gonna need a VN copperhead to post at some point this week. We're still undefeated when that happens and it's documented. 😂

Texas really has not beaten a good team (outside of Vandy). Vandy honestly should have beaten them.

100% agree. I know many may not be, but I’m fairly confident we will beat UGA. It will be a tough game but I could see it being a similar outcome and score to the Bama-UT game.

Now you see why they’re keeping Bama close

It’s not that SEC Nation has input on the CFP ranking. But narratives matter. If we do lose to Georgia, narratives will be what get teams in and out of the playoff. Very clear now that ESPN is already pushing the narrative that Alabama is actually better than us.

I had hope I would be wrong. I thought head to head would matter more and figured the better our win against Alabama looks the better it is for our playoff hopes. But it’s clear that was wrong, and I shouldn’t have hoped Bama would beat LSU.

We just have to take care of business next week so narratives don’t matter.
Here's what's weird. . . if we throttled LSU, it wouldn't be because we're great, it's because LSU was clearly overrated.

Early lines this week were UGA -13.5, so i dont think the injury is really much in play. The only thing that keeps heavy betting on UT is the unknown with Nico. UGA can't score until the second half. We shut teams down in the second half. I'd take us to cover with or without Nico. If UGA gets a lead, they're gonna nurse it and play keep away.

Yep they think he is. Otherwise I could’ve seen the spread be something like UGA -2.5 to no more than -6.5. Also means the public will start to think he’s lying. Remember in 2022 many didn’t know if Bryce Young was playing against us (some of us figured he would) but Saban kept it close to the vest.
