If Indiana loses to Ohio state they will still be in the top 10. That’s the issue I have.
Easier way to solve everything.
5 P5 conferences. Top 2 seeds play conf champ game as the first round of the playoffs. Then the 2 highest G5 teams play. Re seed everyone after the first round and go from there. Anything else is too subjective.
Yes, no way UT would get in this year at 10-2, but LSU won the BCS with 2 losses. Possibly the year they beat UT in the SEC Championship.a 10-2 UT has a chance of being in the playoffs, and if you’re in you have a chance to win a Championship.
Absolutely 0 chances of a 10-2 UT winning a championship with the BCS
We are going to handle Georgia Saturday and Bowl Cut knows it. We got a preview in the Ole Miss game. They play a similar style of football only we are better at it. There is really very little they can do about their offensive line. Ratledge had tightrope surgery and the dog pound points to Tua coming back from it. There is a world of difference between the stress and offensive lineman puts on their ankle and a qb does. He looked terrible last week, he was as mobile as a Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robot.OMGosh I hope so...if we don't the powers that be are going to screw us over.
I hate the SEC, but I hate all these other conferences with their soft azz teams that we would beat the total out of that are going to make the playoffs over us even more.
We simply have to win...no matter who the QB is.
I really hope you are right...because objectively I don't see it happening at Athens...I think we take em on a neutral field or at home.
Yards per game is practically a meaningless stat. Point allowed, redzone efficiency, and 3rd down efficiency are far more telling if your talking stats. Tennessee I didn't look it up but I will bet is at the top in all three.I’m not denying how our defense has played…I will never deny that. Again, I’m trying to have a middle approach as to why we would be left off IF we lose.
Take a step back for a second and honestly ask yourself…is our defense good enough to beat the top 12 teams in back to back to back games? I can’t answer that, because we haven’t been tested enough other than Bama.
Could our offense? I’m going to say no because of how inconsistent we’ve been.
What if one game our defense doesn’t show up against one of the top teams, does our offense win us a game?
We’ve played one top 25 offense (Arkansas) and lost. They are 5th in total yards. The only other top offense we have played is Bama and they are 35th in total yards.
Teams in playoffs and where they rank in total yards per game:
OSU: Top 15
Oregon: Top 15
Indiana: Top 20
Texas: Top 10
Penn St: Top 25
Miami: Top 3
Bama: Like 35
Ole Miss: Top 3
UGA: Meh
BYU: Meh
ND: Meh
Like I keep saying peepaw, let’s just beat UGA and put it all to rest. UGA is around 50th or so in yards per game.
If Nico plays, we win. I think he will have a great game against that defense which in turn will give our defense plenty of time to rest. I think our defense will look strong all game due to getting some breathers.
Vols: 27
UGA: 20
See you in the playoffs.
Georgia only beat them by 10 in Athens…they are an improving team. Just don’t know how to win yet. I am gonna guess they take a jump next year. We probably won’t be too enthused having to play them in Starkville unless it’s early in the year. We'll just have to disagree. Mississippi State is who they are a 2-8 football team with one of their wins over Massachusetts and the other over Eastern Kentucky.
They should make the criteria and expand or reduce the playoffs size each year based on the teams that meet the eligibility requirements. To me there needs to be a black and white set of criteria for entrance.
Otherwise, I could see a team throwing a game to miss conference game. Kiffing is a schister.
Tate is not getting on the balls of his feet at all. He is playing flat footed. To be honest Ole Miss has been more successful passing than us. I believe we can and will win, but i also believe this will be much much tighter than the Ole Miss affair. 3 main reasons.
